Cals and Macros are all that matters. Intermittent Fasting is cool if you prefer to workout fasted, or have time constraints, like larger meals or just don't like eating breakfast. Let's not pretend that it is magic though.

Impressive physiques were being built long before IF became a thing. Long before keto/low carb. Long before eat every 2-3 hours. Long before paleo.
The reason you don’t have the physique you want yet has nothing to do with needing to switch over to IF or the next “scientifically proven” fad (an anomaly since in the world of theory it is only possible to disprove.
The reason you don’t have the physique you want is actually because you simply are too lazy to go out and earn it. To put in the time and consistency and effort, day after day, week after week, year after year.
Most of you would rather spend your time scouting science articles to cut the corners as easily as possible than push out that extra rep. Or get an extra cardio session.
“I can’t seem to get abs”.... you’re right! You spend your time worrying about minor details of when you eat instead of how much you eat.
“My strength never seems to go up”... because you’re too busy reading your latest lifting fad advice than challenging yourself in the gym.
My hand position needs to be a cm over on the bar. My elbow needs to be there a mm more tucked
No you just need to go in and ****ing lift and shut the f*ck up day after day, week after week, year after year.
Then when you truly have approached your generic limitations, and only then, will those minute advantages from IF you’re reading about even be worth your time pursuing.
Right now you’re wasting your time pursuing behaviors that have a significantly lower impact than others you choose to ignore because they’re hard.
This is like a car manufacturer worrying about and spending all of his time on a scratch in the paint job before optimizing the performance of a faulty engine.
You are not where you want to be because you choose to avoid doing what is hard, every single day without fail.
But keep posting how everyone needs to be on IF

Might want to do something with this newly discovered information
"One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. That day could be decades from now or it could be tomorrow. All I know is that's the day I'll wish I could lift more than ever. The day I'd give anything for one more workout, one more set, or one more cardio session. So go hard and enjoy every workout, every set, every rep. Because one day you will wake up and you will never get it back."

honestly this guy raises all sorts of red flags
- He's an MD and specifically a kidney specialist, not some sort of dietician
- Where is his background in research and any sort of nutritional based sciences/dieting, medical school doesn't count because they don't really learn about these things
- Misleading with his words, will say truths but not in an objective manner and will often stretch it to the point where it really just isn't outright true, this is how con-artists work
- Makes erroneous/baseless assumptions "people gained weight after Biggest Loser b/c metabolic rate, OR maybe b/c they stopped adhering to their diet, that could be a thought"
- Cherry picks data to suit his agenda in light of plenty of other evidence that runs contrary to what he says.
- Doesn't present himself or what he is talking about in an objective and balanced manner
- Be careful of people who like to push certain "truths" as if it is "my way or the highway" prob the biggest red-flag of them all, there is usually more than 1 side to it and caveats
- Has plenty of books to sell, promotion of his clinic, etc words things in a way to make it sound controversial in order to garner more attention
- He seems to be extrapolating his evidence of his methods working on diabetic patients to the general population
- Just because somebody got certain results doing something, doesn't mean they know what the fuk they are talking about, i.e: a muscular guy says you need to hit your anabolic window or you lose your gains
would rather listen to people who have actually extensively studied the science behind nutrition/dieting than some MD turned dietitian heavily promoting one way of thinking. just lol if you think he doesn't have a bridge to nowhere to sell you.

It's just a meal timing protocol. Same benefits were touted when I was in high school if you ate small meals every 2-3 hours. Someone joked that IF isn't a fad diet and there isn't any money to be made off of it. Of course if you check Amazon there are tons of Dr.Ozesque books with hundreds of reviews on how to fast lmao. Gold mine.

I'd like to try IF but I just enjoy eating, and I cba to fit all my calories into a smaller window. I like to spread it out. I might try it this year though.

I do 16/8 (roughly) while cutting. Helps make it easier for me to hit my macros.
I don't think its particularly special, but I've thought about trying some extended water fasts like maybe 36 hrs. I like food too much though

Actual study just done where there was absolute proof IF has none of the health benefits it claims (reduced inflammation, body repair, etc). Alan Aragorn posted the link on his instagram.
The only benefit was it prevented over-eating in some individuals

Surely this means in the long run we will see similar results.
Also reading through the study did I just see the workout consisted of doing 4 sets of 6 3x a week with no other lifting? lol
