I was very much against seeing a hooker for the longest time; it was a last resort, and I really didn't want to do it. Knowing what I know now, I wouldn't have waited nearly as long.
My advice to any FAs would be to have a long, hard look at themselves, and be honest about whether or not a certain degree of fear is holding you back. If women and/or sex generally seem quite insurmountable and scary to you, then going to see a hooker/escort/sex-surrogate will probably go a long way toward chipping away at that and helping you become more confident.
