I've never, ever…ever been jealous of PC graphics…until now.

I'm contemplating spending some dumbass money to play this game on PC. Max settings at 1440 resolution would be absolutely insane.

Guys I’m in need of a new laptop for school so I figured I might as well get a gaming laptop. Would an Acer Helios 300 run the game ok? Here are the specs (I don’t know anything about computer hardware)

It would run it, likely on medium settings if you turn off shadows and lower particle effects and reflections; might have to dip a few things into low to get it smooth at 60 fps.

Since it's only 1080 resolution it will probably do ok. Not sure about max settings but would definitely run the game.

I'm not buying into the hype for this game yet. The new trailer was pretty chitty. The whole Keanu Reeves things seems like a gimmick, and it doesn't sit right with me

Hard to say. The difference is the game is optimized to run as good as possible on console. On PC it's basically wide open and left up to your particular hardware to deal with. lol

Hey guys, I'm clueless when it comes to gaming computers but I decided to get one for med school. I'll be using it for classes/ notes (along with an iPad) plus the occasional game (I'm mostly waiting for Cyberpunk 2077 next year).

That being said, which of these sounds like the better choice?

Omen has a considerably better graphics card. That would be my choice between the two. I can't speak to the heating issues though.

Dropping $1k+ on a laptop? Just get a desktop brah.

But to answer your question, they're both similar and will probably run cp2077 within ~10 frames of each other if you were to compare the two. If they're the same price, the Omen with the 2060 and a bigger ssd is a better value imo, but I can't comment on the heat issues for these so I really don't know.

But idk man, I'm not really a fan of gaming laptops. I've seen others on the misc say they like theirs, but I've never found one that I've liked. Desktop for games + work laptop is the combo I'd recommend, but if you're on that poverty student life, I'd pick the one that is better for taking notes in class and easier to carry, not on the performance you get in games because there won't be much of a difference from these two. Just from the pics I've seen, the omen looks bulkier and heavier than the helios so maybe the helios is better for you?

What's all the hype around this one about?

Watched one of the gameplay vids and it looks like a decent shooter but I don't see why everyone is acting like it's going to be revolutionary

Not like it really matters in the end. A $1,000 desktop isn't even remotely enough to play this game on max settings at anything above 1080 resolution. lol

I'd expect the FPS element to be one of the weaker parts of the game, although CDPR might nail that as well. But guarantee that the characters, story, and everything else will shine hard af


I'm personally much more into futuristic shooter-type games than I am medieval environments, so CDPR doing one is exciting even if just for that reason

Basically, and the fact that CDPR transitioned the Witcher 3 team to Cyberpunk so that bodes well. And that they've been working on this game for six years or something crazy
