For all the "odds are not in your favor" guys, yeah I guess that's a concern if you consider yourself average or even below average. If you refuse to accept mediocre and push yourself to success, you can make just about anything work. Do you know how many people said that screenwriting doesn't pay, or odds are against you? And yet here I am, finally making it onto IMDB, after writing 12 feature length screenplays, 2 novels, and multiple shorts- with 3 screenplays under contract.

You can if you believe you can. If you believe everyone else's fear of failure, you won't win at anything.

Decide if you want it, then go win. If you don't want marriage, that's another issue, and I respect your choice.

I was talking about second, third, fourth marriages..it's statistics. Of course there are outliers.

And I don't really care for virtue signaling about how marriages work for me cos we just are so much better...a lot of times it's pure luck that you like to hang with the same person for decades and decades.

I have a rental house, and I generally get a lot of divorcees looking for a place to stay as the family home is no longer an option. I feel so bad for them srs, you can tell the divorce cuts them so deep and its painful for them to even talk about. Not seeing their kids regularly, losing their spouse, family, income. Its really very very sad. Really hard on the kids too.

Wife and I will be celebrating our ten year anniversary this fall. TEN YEARS!

Married 2 years. Together six. 5month old boy and two Dogs. Different strokes for different folks. I really enjoy the married life, we argue over dumb stuff, we disagree on things but we work well together and have ultimately done very well so far. My wife was independent and had a good job when I met her, and I was the same. Keep the arguments clean and the sex dirty.

Happily married, but I only got married last year so a bit early to celebrate.

Let that sink in.
Decent odds actually. It's lower than the the failure rate of starting your own business, and yet we don't discourage people from becoming entrepreneurs.

Take out all the drug addicts, shotgun weddings, nutjobs, and so on and the success rate for first marriages becomes well north of 50%. That's about as good of a shot in anything you're going to get in life.

I think it's common for men to get remarried again simply because men get more dependent on women as they get older.
