That's why monogamy was so strongly culturally enforced. That's why adultery was punished, and the society generally censored sexually arousing behaviors. The institution of marriage allowed this.Yeah I think actually for men the harem concept is more natural than monogamy.
I think monogamy is very good for society but I think it’s an artificial concept that was imposed by religion and society to control the masses.
Not saying it’s a bad thing, it’s good and I believe in monogamy but it’s ultimately unnatural. But good for you in the same way that dieting is good for you but it goes against natural instinct to eat as much as possible.

Obviously for civilized society that is not good so monogamy was invented. And I think monogamy is very good but does go against natural instinct.

I knew i had found a food one when she sucked my dink while i was watching pitch black. Other than that she needs to have a geniune interest in cleaning and maintaining an orderly home laundry etc. i prefer to do the dishes to ensure they are done correctly

There's a spectrum of people out there. There are a lot of varied traits in terms of ability to pair bond. On one extreme, you have very naive, innocent, monogamous types, and on the other extreme, you have sloots/womanizers who view sex as roughly as trivial as taking a dump. Some love multiple people, and some only love one at a time. Collectively, most people fall into a category of "serial monogamy" where they fall in love with one person at a time, but the pair bond lasts maybe a decade or so and then fades. Sadly, this makes a lot of sense evolutionarily. A pair bond for life is a bit strict, and not too great for the genetic diversity of your own offspring.

Males, having every interest in preventing other males from impregnating their women, would kill rival males and keep them away from their harems. It also makes a lot of sense why women are less obsessed with sex than men when you think about it.Oh yeah as to individual people I definitely believe some are inclined toward monogamy and others are not.
But I meant humankind in general as a species. I do not think humans are inherently monogamous by nature.

for instance, i wouldn't know exactly when monogamy came about. i wouldn't know the size of "tribes" - have a feeling they were tiny and nowhere near what people imagine, etc., etc. i know rape was prevalent way back when; do not know exactly when it became taboo
but i do know that humans have always used some form of birth control and have always regulated population size. high human birth rate has never been the norm

I think the worst I ever saw was the primate that Rafiki from lion king was based on, the mandrill. For them, I think only like 5% of the males reproduce. And they all fight each other. AND the craziest thing is that winning the fights triggers a feedback loop which results in different gene expression for them. They end up looking very different and becoming "alphas". Losing a fight changes them into "betas". It's incredible because this exact same pattern is easily observed in the amorphous trait humans call "confidence". Men who win a lot of fights or challenges develop a kind of confidence that makes them more attractive to women. Losers spiral into a low self esteem situation and tend to exhibit traits unattractive to women. It's hilarious how we have a similar mechanism so obviously built into our own species but people fail to recognize it here. It's not all that different.Yes and also to create a content labor force. If all women only want Chad anyway then the rest of men have nothing to work for and they will rebel or check out.
But it you assign each worker his own personal woman for sex and household labor, the workers will be content and work dutifully to provide for their woman and family as society expects them to.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mandrill
Mandrills seem to live in very large, stable groups named 'hordes'. A horde can number in the hundreds of mandrills, possibly averaging around 615 individuals and reaching as many as 845.[23][25][26] It is difficult to accurately estimate horde size in the forest, but filming a horde crossing a gap between two forest patches or crossing a road is a reliable way of estimating the total number. The largest horde verifiably observed in this way contained over 1,300 individuals, in Lopé National Park, Gabon—the largest aggregation of nonhuman primates ever recorded.[36] In the wild, males disperse and only female mandrills remain in their birth group. This benefits females to establish strong relationships with their relatives which can provide support during conflicts, better offspring and longer lifespan.[37][38] These hordes are made of adult females and their dependent offspring.[39] Males live a solitary lifestyle, and enter hordes only when females are receptive to mating, which lasts three months each year.[25][39] All-male bachelor groups are not known to exist.[25][39] The mating season of the mandrill takes place from June to October, which is when the sexual swellings of the female occur.[39] They breed every two years. When breeding, a male will follow and guard a female in estrus. Adult males exist in two different forms: the brightly colored and "fatted" dominant males, and the paler and "nonfatted" subordinate males. Both males engage in mating, but only the dominant males can sire offspring. Males sometimes fight for breeding rights which results in dominance. Though conflicts are rare, they can be deadly. Gaining dominance, that is becoming the alpha male, results in an "increased testicular volume, reddening of sexual skin on the face and genitalia, and heightened secretion of the sternal cutaneous gland".[9] When a male loses dominance or its alpha status, the reverse happens, although the blue ridges remain brightened. There is also a fall in its reproductive success. This effect is gradual and takes place over a few years.[40][41][42] When subordinates mate-guard a female, the competition between them allows the dominant males to have a greater chance of siring offspring,[43] since subordinates outnumber dominants 21 to 1. There is also a dominance hierarchy among females, with reproductive success being displayed in shorter interbirth intervals amongst these alpha figures and the beginning of reproduction at earlier ages.[43]

It’s just vanity to think we humans are far removed from that. If you look under the surface it’s the same animal drives. Sex, procreation, survival etc.

What if ER had been like this dude? What do you think would have happened then? Society needs to change its attitude toward the mentally ill, the poor, the "losers", the unattractive rejects, etc. There needs to be a kind of kindness that can turn others back and help them cope with their situation. I'm not saying enslave women and assign them to men. I'm not saying everyone should get to reproduce. I'm saying society should not reject people and run them over, alienating them. We are a community. Our society should seek to be a community. One of the things that helped me become more well adjusted after I was hospitalized was how fuking kind people were to me. My state basically saved my fuking life. The therapists, doctors, etc all seemed to genuinely care. While I know I am just a means to a paycheck for them, it made me feel included. They told me my life had value. Hearing that MATTERS. But my state is different from most states. If I lived in Texas or California? Fuking lol. Nobody would have given a chit. IDK where I could end up, but I know there are many more like me. And there are men much smarter than me and much angrier at this world. If we don't collectively try to become more inclusive as a society, you are going to see chaos one day.
It's so important for people to be polite and respectful to each other, and for people to keep their word and be honorable. Society's survival depends on these things. We have been moving in the wrong direction. People have no manners or sense of common decency to others anymore. They bully who they see as weak. They lash out. They alienate and segregate. They bring about conflict. That's no society at all, and all that will do in the end is open the door for violent conflict.
