Got out to the beach a couple weeks ago. Put a few pompano and whiting in the cooler. Taught a couple younguns to fish a bit.

Got out the beach for the first time this year a few weeks ago. Took some younguns with me and got them on their first saltwater fish.

Do you throw spinnerbaits for them? They annihilate them and you can cover ass loads of water with them.

I do sometimes when I am covering water and fishing for bass and pike. A spinnerbait with white in it is great because you only have one hook to deal with, and yes they do demolish them.

In spring and when fishing primarily pike I throw a silver or shiny green suspending husky jerk with a jerk, jerk pause action. Can fish as slow as you want. They have everything, lots of flash like a spoon, but more realistic... They are cheap lures, so when the finish comes off or you destroy them, you aren't tossing a 30 dollar jerkbait.

If they are deeper is big jigs and weighted soft jerkbaits.

I am taking up musky fishing this year, and am filming the seasons worth of searching for my channel, so hopefully have pics and more come december. I have caught many incidentally, but never targeted them.

A friend of mine is helping me out, and he has personally caught 921 musky in 13 years of fishing. let that sink in, a fish that most people never even see, and he has caught 921 fish...will hit 1000 easy this year.

Hoping it will be fun, already spent too much money on gear. lol

They aren't common everywhere. Not bad where I am, but lots of places dvoid of them. I have caught five or six, and have seen fifteen or so. Hoping to drastically up that number.

Person best on pike is 43 3/4", and you dont hear of them much bigger than 45" here. Thats a truly massive pike for here. Been walleye fishing a lot in the past while. .

Got 1600 total inches of walleye last fall, average size 24".

Got a new frog I'm gonna try out. Never really used one. Got a medium size farm lake (no cows or horses anymore). Very clean with lots of lilly pads. Gonna try and hit it Saturday morning. That frog and a watermelon and/or green pumpkin Texas rig. Maybe even go weightless on the worms. Gonna be a good weekend.

Landed a 3.3lb rainbow today on a 3 weight fly. Got him on the barbie rn, 15 minute fight, was a beaut. Will post pics soon

Got out last sunday for a few hrs. Got four walleye, all were around 20", so nothing too big. This fella was 21.5". Lots in the freezer so all went back.

Striper run is officially over for us here in the valley -- was a good season but caught mainly schoolies with my biggest measuring 26 inches (looks janky cause was sitting on ice for a bit). Might go chase the big ones up the coast if I find the motivation for it. Until salmon season heats up in August I'm just sticking to fishing trout in the alpine lakes. Caught some browns this weekend but no big lakers unfortunately.

Was in Florida a week ago and did an inshore charter. Caught snook, trout (unfortunately weren’t in season yet, speckled sea trout are bomb), jack, and some others. Then we ran into MONSTER redfish. We landed 8 or 9 in an hour, none under 30 inches and the biggest was 40. They fight like hell, was awesome (will try and upload pics)

Got a musky charter scheduled for up here in July, one of the few Michigan fish I’ve never caught..

Honestly I fish here often and the one or two weeks I fish Florida a year completely destroy Michigan freshwater fishing. Mirin the pompano above, great eating fish.

Fished the keys in the mangroves last march. Had a blast.

Had a flats guide all booked near Big Pike Key for this march and was all set, but COVID fukked me.

Just got a new Diawa Lexa, and spent way too much on a whack of massive ass musky lures.

Going to give it a good solid try for some musky. Caught 6 or so over the years incidentally, but havent tried for them in earnest.

A buddy has caught 921 musky in the last 13 years, and is going to get me out a bit.

Cant wait for it to open in a couple weeks.

I really only use them when targeting spanish macks or bigger bluefish during the winter but this is the go to knot, gives the lure great action. A lot of guys also like to use wire but I never do because I find that even though i'll get cut off more times, i'll get significantly more strikes with 20-30lb fluoro leader.

Was out fishing in the middle of no where and my reel broke. Had to walk back only fishing half the stretch I wanted to. Feels bad mane.
