Brady has played in the NFL for 21 years and been to 10 Super Bowls, winning 6, and honestly should have 8 rings if it wasn't for two miracle throws from Eli Manning. This is an absurd statistic considering the NFL Salary Cap and always changing supporting casts.

He Couldn't beat the Celtics? Kevin McHale was better than anyone Jordan ever played with, and the Chief DJ and Ainge were pretty ****ing good.
So Jordan and a couple scrubbs couldn't beat a couple completely loaded teams that at the time were considered in the discussion of the best teams of all times?
No clue what you're saying about the pistons having their run... They literally beat the chit out of Jordan for a couple years then Bulls ended what would have been their run and went on a run of their own.
Put the loaded Bulls of the 90's up against the loaded Celtics and Lakers of the 80's.
Fuk the Pistons, they don't belong in the same conversation.

Bird Parish McHale Dennis Johnson and Ainge.
Magic, Byron Scott, James Worthy, Kareem and Kurt Rambis
vs.
Bill Wennington/Luc Longley at C
Dennis Rodman
Scottie Pippen
MJ
Ron Harper
Parish and Kareem would eat up Longley and Wennington This is the key right here.
Scottie or Rodman would have to deal with McHale on the post. That would be a matchup Nightmare. Worthy is a wash to Pippen. Rodman was no threat offensively.
The other would be lucky enough to get Larry Bird, one of the top 5 players of all time. If he doesn't score he's getting assists and double figure on the boards.
Kurt Rambis was a good rebounder, Bulls have advantage there
Michael would get his points, however, he'd be checked by Dennis Johnson who was All First Team Defense 9 Consecutive Times. Who is going to account for Magic? 6'9' point guard who scored 39 points the night he played center as a rookie vs. the 76ers in the Finals
Byron Scott Danny Ainge are both better than Ron Harper.
Off the bench Kukoc vs. Walton (HOf) McAdoo (HOF)
It would be 6 games tops.

To OP's original question, I would say at this point having seen both sides present fairly solid arguments, it's a strong possibility.

Jordan would definitely rank as the most popular shoe salesman of all time. Not the greatest athlete of all time.

Brady is more comparable to Derek Jeter. Both are guys who, statistically and talent-wise, are not necessarily the best. Their entire legacies come from winning, which is also a product of the organization they played for.
In contrast, Jordan was the best statistically and talent-wise. Even if he won 1 championship instead of 6, he would still be considered the greatest

During Brady's career, he was statistically inferior to Payton Manning. The rings are only reason that people rank Brady over Manning. But with Jordan, there was no one who was regarded as superior to him, in any regard

"the key is Kareem and Parish dominating Longley and Wennington"
half the league dominated Longley and Wennington
The Bulls dominated in the Golden Era for centers - Shaq, Hakeem, Robinson, Ewing, Mourning, Mutumbo
every single one of those dudes was better than Parish, and you're telling me the key to beating the 90's Bulls is dominating their centers
you're an idiot, may God have mercy on your soul
