Thanks for the update.

And the bold bit is a good reminder. Expect most western media to continue telling you that Russia is losing, Russia is committing war crimes/atrocities, Russia is being wrecked by sanctions [though they are more harsh than any previously enacted], and Russia suffering high casualties.

I can't really say what Russian propaganda might be pushing as I don't read or speak Russian, nor have access to Russian media.
Russia is blocking access to the internet, the state media is not showing any images of bombing and they are refusing to call it a war. If you’re just watching TV you wouldn’t know that Russia is even fighting.

I have no issues saying every media outlet presentations are inherently biased but when a population is not aware that it’s country is bombing their neighbors you’ve got a problem.

Gobalhomo is the reason for the breakdown of the nuclear family, degeneracy and cancel culture of the west. Not that Russia is any place I want to live but it's been pretty obvious they've been trying to prevent that from happening there. So again, you can like the fact he doesn't want that there but not like him. Quite a few of you are very emotional about all of this and immediately push back on anything that isn't "Russian man bad".

poutiné and china plan to assess a new world order. So much for the globalist argument.

NATO wants free speech and democracy, while their eastern counterparts want dictatorship and police state

Moscow and Beijing issued a 5,000-word statement at the time declaring that their partnership had “no limits,” denouncing NATO enlargement and asserting that they would establish a new global order with true “democracy.”

Looks to me like what Putin is trying to do is get as many refugees out of Ukraine as possible. Those who stay, will be “happy” under Russian control. I think that’s his main plan at this point. How will it all pan out? Who the fukk knows. But I do think that his ultimate goal is to get as many people who oppose him out of there, hence why they’re just sitting by Kiev at the moment and letting as many Ukrainian citizens leave as possible.

Putin's just racking up the bills left and right that Russians will have to pay once he's gone.

It sucks that a one of kind like that got destroyed. But who is Putin going to bill? Himself? Everybody knows how this is going to play out.

Neither were the Japanese...Pre WWII the Japanese were some of the most vicious and ruthless people that have ever lived. A society/culture that was bent on absolutely brutality with zero room for giving in.

...and then a few bombs were dropped. Just sayin.

If enough pressure is applied, everyone bends the knee.

I just bought Russian ETFs.

Am I going to hell for that?

More importantly, are sanctions against Russia truly going to hurt it in the long term, and I’ll be left holding a bag? Or will life be back to normal in a month and I will have doubled my money?

Must have been a last second buy in, seeing how its trade has been suspended but apparently it did a massive jump.

But yeah I think you'll be a bagholder, sanctions are going in dry.

Russian stock exchange analyst Alexander Butmanov is toasting to what he is viewing as the death of the Russian stock market.

“Rest in peace, dear comrade,” he said, according to a translation.

FUKKING LOL

An overwhelming majority of market participants see the Russian market as “uninvestable” and its securities will be removed from emerging markets indexes effective March 9, MSCI said. FTSE Russell will delete Russia constituents listed on the Moscow Exchange at a zero value on March 7. Meanwhile, trading in 28 depositary receipts for Russian companies have been suspended on the LSE, Chief Executive Officer David Schwimmer said in an interview with Bloomberg Television on Thursday.

Martial law in Russia is looming on a vote tomorrow.

“The war has had a huge human impact already. It is also resulting in serious disruptions to supply chain and trading conditions,” the company said. “For all of these reasons, the company groups have decided to temporarily pause Ikea operations in Russia.”

The grim economic prospects have already hit local businesses hard and prompted some entrepreneurs to flee the country.

“There’s no future for our children here if Putin stays in power,” said the owner of an advertising services company with 100 employees. He was leaving for Armenia with his wife and two sons. “If Putin continues to control the country, it’s obvious for us that we don’t want to stay here, 100%. And we can only stay if he is overthrown. If there is a U-turn in politics, then we can stay.”
