Truly unpopular, but Maligant (2021) was a treat and treasure to behold. I was like...is this supposed to be a comedy? It went from somewhat campy opener, to psychological thriller, to tragicomedy quickly. The segue from serious to sudden change into Videogame was hilarious to me, the Matrix style moves, the precision and accuracy of the use of the sword and flinging of the chair, where as everyone around him/her was armed with guns, yet he/she was effortlessly top dog in the scenario . This movie went from enjoyable watch to legendary with that shift.

Lost it when the villain/victor began kicking ass backwards and the infamous chair fining scene

I know lots of people don't like sudden tone changes, which is why movies like Barbarian (2022) had such polarizing views, of either love or hate. Seems like the segue into serious atmospheric horror to comedy infuriated a lot of people.

I really fukking miss Robin Williams ;_; You kind of did the right thing though, because the World hasn't improved at all...

This is the type of Film, that couldn't be made today. When you watch it, you'll see why. It would unfortunately be edited, revised, and watered down. I love a good Femme Fatale Film, but the major problem I have with this is the score. Here we go with the geriatric elevator tune that permeates throughout the entire movie. A moody instrumental would have better suited this. Yes, it bothers me and I can't completely enjoy the movie as a result, even though it's top tier. Probably have some mild misophonia or something. Most others can easily ignore the music, but it is a distraction to me.
