Most people are not good. There is a reason China is succeeding and the US is going down the chitter. People are selfish. They need to be forced to do things and ruled by intimidation and fear. Discipline needs to be imposed. Children need to be beaten and yelled at.

There is a reason every successful Fortune 500 company is run like an authoritarian regime where you are in constant fear of losing your job. You can't be soft on parenting and soft on crime and expect good outcomes. Sociopaths aren't soft on anyone. Your system needs to be designed to withstand the shocks imposed by the worst people.

Immigration also negatively impacts the countries all these people came from. They could be doctors, lawyers, engineers improving their own country. Instead most get an easy college degree then flee to the west

If you check the historical data on homicide rate for example, you'll see that back then, crime was even higher. There was only a brief period shortly after WW2 where crime rates declined. And that's largely because of emergency powers and harsh crackdown by the government during war time. Your romantic view of the past is a lie. And you've erroneously concluded that crime must have to do with immigration when it was a constant factor with or without it. Crime rates were very low from 1944-1964. But you look at the 20's and 30's and they were skyrocketing.

Diversity is fine if the people are actually all united under the nation. When an entire nation of diverse cultures is trained and programmed to hate the "motherland," though, such as currently the case in the US, then diversity becomes a weakness.
There needs to either be a strong patriotism or a strong (shared) religious foundation to unite the diverse folks under a common cause. Otherwise people are just pit against each other.
