Agreed.

Final fantasy used to be turned based because the hardware at the time could not handle anything else. The games evolve with new hardware and while I loved turn-based growing up, I am glad they are doing something different every time to keep it fresh.

FF games rely heavily on the staggering mechanics now.

Persona is a good franchise to play if you really need that turn-based fix.

I'm trying to keep my expectations low and avoiding reviews so i can get the best experience possible.

Not sure if I'm going to keep my pre-order of the Deluxe version tho. Might just cancel and go for regular edition.

its release week! I waited so so long for this and its almost here. As in I remember the original trailer in 2020 and since that day been just waiting. Almost 3 years.

I really think we've got a banger and I cant wait. Havent been this excited for a game in almost never, I was really excited for ff7 remake but maybe this one even a little more.

This forum doesnt seem THAT excited but looking forward to the reviews this week and then playing along with you incels cum thursday.

Lemme know what the HUD situation is like on full release. I prefer playing on my OLED in my bed but if we don't get a fully dynamic HUD then I'll just play it on my QLED in the living room.

Are you guys buying an actual hard copy of the game or just downloading it?

I haven't done much console gaming since like PS3/Xbox 360. Is it normal now to only download games? So you pretty much don't play them once the next gen consoles come out because they stay on that original console you downloaded them on right?

Just fkkin lol at having to wait for some irl death stranger to make the trek and deliver it to you. Brb I'll be playing the moment it hits 12.00 with no issue. Physicals nice for having a cool limited steel disk edition or not, but it's not worth the entire hassle of having to wait or having something go wrong during delivery.


I mean options are great and I still buy disk console versions, but I've gone all digital with my games. Save for a few I decided to buy physical but it was just on a whim since I passed by a shop.

Can you usually redownload the games on the next gen consoles? So like let's say you had a PS4 game you liked that you downloaded on your PS4, when you get a PS5 can you go in and redownload it again onto your PS5 since you already paid for it?

I agree digital does seem the way to go

Yep, it's all backwards compatible. If you bought a game on the ps4, you can re-download it back again on the ps5. In some cases dev's have also updated the ps4 game for free to allow for 4k/60fps when it runs on the ps5.

I was a physical only guy a couple of years ago but since servers and dowload speeds have improved, as well as SSD tech in consoles I'm also fully digital besides a couple of games.

Will buy steelbook version of FFXVI though

I'm getting physical. Not just because my internet is slow as fuk, but also because I like to look at my collection and have the ability to let others borrow my games. I'd be pissed if I lost internet connection and suddenly my console won't let me play something I fukking paid for.

So there were two parts. The first part was literally the first 2 hours of the game itself. It was excellent. Mostly cut scene heavy but some good gameplay segments so you get a taste of it. And it ends in a way that makes you want to buy the game right after and see what happens. Its one of the best uses of a demo i've ever seen.

The second part gives you a ton of gameplay to really see if its for you. Its incredibly well done, just depends if you like this kind of fighting system.

This game has nothing to do with XV, not made by the same people and a completely different game.

I'm gonna be legit surprised if it breaks 90 ... But I think it'll be sit at 88-89.


Lack of black people, a confusing story (prologue felt very disjointed) will prolly bring the score down a bit lmao.
