I'm confused (srs). I thought Republicans had to vote to start the inquiry and didn't have the votes? I also thought you had to have evidence first, then investigate. Not investigate first, fishing for evidence.

Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) moved to launch an official impeachment inquiry into President Biden on Tuesday — without a vote on the House floor.

It’s perfectly legal and constitutional for McCarthy to start an inquiry without a vote.

Even money on McCarthy being unseated first.

It's like he went forward with this trying to make people happy, keep his job, maybe avert a shutdown...but seems like none of it is happening.

I do think they'll eventually impeach Biden, though. On something tbd.
