Friendly reminder that Dan Houser (Rockstar co-founder and GTA creative lead),Lazlow Jones(Producer and, y'know, the in-game radio host Lazlow),Leslie Benzies(Rockstar North President, Michael Unsworth (Vice President of Writing) and others have left Rockstar, and while many of those departures might seem like a long time ago, bear in mind that GTA 5 came outten years ago, meaning those people were there throughout development and only left afterwards.
The writing has been on the wallthat this might not be the next GTA they were dreaming off, so let's see.
I was hoping for a 1980s setting to try and escape this s***y era.
Same here, mate.
What, were they afraid that the zoomer generation rope if they couldn't make twattoks of themselves making twattoks in GTA? I already stay the hell away from all that social media crap like it was going to give me AIDs, and judging by this trailer it's going to be an extension of the game (the floating heart emojis on the video... good grief).
Some workers say they’re still trying to figure out how to make games at this new iteration of Rockstar and wonder even what a Grand Theft Auto game looks like in today’s environment. Besides, several Rockstar employees pointed out that you can't really satirize today's America — it's already a satire of itself.
I'm surprised people forgot all of that and haven't dialed back the "it's still satire" copium because the trailer was far, farmore of just a reminder of [current year], methed up America than any kind ofsatire, and there have even been direct comparisons to real life recordings (e.g. the crocodile I think), which again, isn't satire. If they really couldn't figure out how satirize present day clown world, then that would have been the perfect reason to just set the game in an older era. But again, then gen z would pout about not being able to take selfies.
Vice City had the most charm, followed by San Andreas, just through the atmosphere, and both had amazing protagonists and casts. I'll be impressed if the new round for 6 aren't somehow even more unappealing than 5.
I'm hyped for this mostly for nostalgia reasons, but I've been unimpressed with Cuckstar for a fuking decade now. GTA IV was a masterpiece but lost a bit of the spirit of the GOAT games OAT with San Andreas and Vice City. I'd kill for another GTA IV after GTA V. V's world felt soulless to me. The single player story also sucked balls and it seemed like an afterthought. The world and story, really the whole game, was just milked for these last 10 years for countless online transactions that are just the highest form of cuckoldry. Oh, and no story DLC. Meanwhile, they drop a trailer for the sequel coming in 2025...12 fuking years after V...like it's a gift from God. The only games they've made aside from Cowboy Simulator 2, which was way less fun than RDR, were repackaged editions of GTA V for new consoles and a terrible "definitive edition" of the GTA games that came out 20 yard ago.
No Bully sequel? No more Max Payne games? No GTA or even DLC for 12 years?
Cliffs: Fuk Cuckstar and fuk all you cucks out there who sink your G4P money into GTA Online and keep them afloat!
No joke, after the Hogwarts game came out, I really wanted to see a Rockstar game like Bully but with magic.
All of these AAA games and their hyper-realistic graphics just aren't worth the stupidly long waits between games. Forget the teaser for the trailer, the whole damn trailer is a cocktease when the game is coming out in2025, and now that's just becoming the norm.
I seriously don't care how photo-realistic they want to make the games if they neglect the gameplay, and that remains one of Rockstar's growing weaknesses where freedom continues being pushed further behind on-rails, curated, "cinematic" experiences.
Rockstar's games were been fun in spite of how they poorly they have always controlled, and even their most recent game, RDR2, prioritized excruciatingly slow ("but realistic!") animations over making a game that doesn't make you want to commit some real GTA crimes on whoever is responsible for their games' controls. Rockstar's controls have never been able to keep up with their contemporaries, feeling practically a generation off, and with them squeezing away the ability for players to veer off the beaten path for missions lest they break with "mission failed," I'm going to need a hell of a lot more than a shiny trailer showing off the console's theoretical abilities to not overheat (and how the Series S is going to fare obviously remains to be seen, but I digress)
I really don't understand why it's so hard to just let the player decide what they want to play like CP2077 did...
I'm almost surprised that they didn't just do the logical thing of letting people create a character so that they could transition to GTA6 Online with them. Also, I could be wrong but I could have sworn that the Saint's Row games had customizable characters alongside voice acting, and like you said, Cyberpunk pulled off player customization and voice acting.
With the whole "Bonnie and Clyde" angle, that could actually work about even better because you could maketwocustom characters for one campaign. Shame.

is not plus size.
Somewhere in the bowels of deepest hell, Satan is assessing the potential of this shyte as the permanent soundtrack to an eternity of being hosed down with Bernard Manning's diarrhea.

The plus side is you will actually be controlling all male characters for the game.

After reading a little more, especially about how a lot of the main Rockstar team left the company a while ago....this game is going to be 100% woke.
But ofc weak little soyboys will still eat it up, "its not that serious hurr durrrr", just like they did for Last of Us 2.

I'm a little worried about how they're going to handle gameplay as Lucia. Look at her -
Is she going to beat up men and get into shootouts with gang members? I hope the game doesn't get goofy like that. I want characters who are believable and I just don't see someone like her being a violent career criminal.
