He is a real hothead, never backing down from the smallest thing. As soon as I say anything it'll likely cascade into friend-ending territory.
My plan is to send him an email calmly stating that this is not right, there was no discussion at all, and to hit me with a 500$ bill afterwards is seriously messed up.
Then I wait to see what he says, he likely rages out, then I take it from there, perhaps mail suit back and gameover on the friendship.

he may be a shady fuk but there is no way out without this getting messy
the way he writes his emails and the way you make him out to be (stingy).. it appears as if he will not shy from retaliation
it is not worth losing a "friend" who will one day be of help to you
Afterall, he is a lawyer.
You can express your discontent civily in your email, but just fukin pay the man because he is a lawyer and he is your "friend" for now

This is wither a troll thread or OP is a pussy.
He gets you dress socks, like this? Or are something special Google is not showing me?

And a pocket square. You've given him $200 cash for his gift and you're even entertaining the idea of negotiating. Tell him to suck your dick and ask for a good address to return the suit.

Did you talk to any of the other groomsmen to see if they knew about this before
From the way you describe him I don't know why you are even friends with him
Or make a 528 dollar donation in his name to some charity to spite him.

Email away bros. Thanks for help, I am sure I'll have a classic response from him.
I kept it civil, and told him it was lacking in class to be giving me an itemized bill post wedding for a suit we never discussed buying and what address I should send it back to as I was not keeping it.

Nothing so far bros. I'll keep you updated.
My plan is the following when he writes back. Something along these lines:
"You know I really appreciated the convenient itemization of my costs, consider both:
My 200$ cash wedding gift
My sisters 200$ cash gift
as down payment on the suit I'll send you the 130$ so we can square up. Don't worry, I'll waive my ticket, hotel, car rental, food costs, and appearance cost due to lifelong friendship."
And never talk to the fuk again.

This is some of the most autistic sheeit I've ever heard. He asks you to be in his wedding, gives you ****ty lobster socks, then itemizes a bill down to the dollar and asks you to pay him back for a suit he required you to wear. I can't even.

No contact from him at all, no email, no text/call. He definitely saw it, he's the type that isn't going down without something I am sure he is so mad that I will be served up with a lawsuit (srs) or he is gathering witnesses etc. Fuk him, really shows me what he really was about.

I'd just send him the suit back and tell him I want nothing more to do with him.
WTF is he doing? You came to his wedding, you did it for him, you don't owe him anything.

Hey guys so here is the update almost a month later:
NOTHING from this guy. He evidently dropped me out of his life after I sent him a pretty hot email about how this was tactless, no prior discussion, and whats the return address. We used to talk a couple times a week so the silence is obvious.
He is the type that inevitably thinks its my fault that 'its only 500$, it was MY wedding and he expected me to buy him a suit? Wasn't he happy with his crab socks and lifelong friendship?'
He was in town last weekend and didn't hit me up, so this one is basically over. Suits me anyway, what a dik move on his part.
