Concealer vs no concealer under eye is a big part of it. Lack of emphasis on a skincare routine in the US. Asiaโ€™s culture care a lot more about skincare routines so their skin keeps the glow.

Although the US is slowly starting to catch onto effective skincare itโ€™s still got a long way since makeup is used to fix probs rather than treating issues at the source (people would rather reach for the quick fix by covering up flaws instead of changing diet or finding a product to properly treat it).

Makeup brands are also incorporating some benefits in their products like Vitamin C, but it doesnโ€™t compare to having an established skincare routine.

Ok I know for a fact ya'll are gonna say she looks like an alien or that "LOL if you think she doesn't have makeup on"

no *******s, she doesn't. She might have some lip gloss on the bottom pic but she has no foundation covering her freckles/blemishes and no eyeshadow/liner enhancing her eyes

The internet and social media has given us very warped and skewed perceptions of beauty (both men and women).

You open IG and instantly see pages and pages of the top 0.01% of people (they get followers). On top of that, most of them don't look like that in real life.

The amount of girls I know on ******** that look great in their FB profile, but I know they don't look that good at all IRL.

Same with my AVI, I do not look like that year round and in typical lighting lmao - none of you *******s do.

I think makeup has to be damaging to the skin or a big cause of acne. It has to be. All these photos of girls with/without makeup look like they have major face damage. So much acne and stuff its like their face has the skin of my elbow or knee. How is that even possible? My mind wouldn't be blown if makeup companies intentionally put stuff in there so girls use more and more makeup.

All companies do that. They put stuff in food to make the public think they're not hungry so they consume more. Why not with makeup?

because women have been clogging their pores, leathering their skin, infecting their skin with dirty brushes, and constantly touching their face since like age 12 caking it up with makeup. and also chit diet, drugs, alcohol, malnutrition, sun damage.

so by the time a girl is 21, she has over a decade of damage done.

^^^^ those are the physical reasons, and then add on top of that we only see women 99% of the time in makeup, it psychologically skews the brain and when we see them with no makeup we are like WTF.


the funny thing is, in all these before and after pics, you can tell in the makeup pictures, the women mentally thinks she is a 10/10 and has fake confidence. but in the before pics, they look all timid, weak, and self conscious. so women will act more bitchy when they have makeup on, and more likely to reject her looksmatched male equivalent.

I think you're right. I don't have any proof of that of course, but the women I know who wear makeup look beaten down all the time. Plus as you get older it starts to settle into fine lines and makes women look even more haggard.

Nothing beats clear skin, a fresh face, and lip balm.

You shouldn't say "looksmatched", you should just say "similar SMV" male equivalent. The SMV of a woman is much more heavily weighted in looks, than a man's is (regardless of what homos on here will have you think).

Women don't want a man with similar SMV. Hypergamy drives her to select a higher SMV male; by artificially increasing her percieved value via makeup etc., she can land a higher value male. Similar to how a man will show off wealth and/or status and especially the promise of security, that he doesn't necessarily have.
