I can explain it right now:
Group mentality
Probably strength of anonymity through online option
low self esteem brings down others to raise themselves up

None of these people wanted her dead. They all were just acting the way young people have always acted forever. It wasn't their fault at all.

I was bullied most of my school/high school life
Fat, ugly, stupid, not athletic, no personality, never included in any groups, always picked last, harassed online and in person

didn't kill myself though, made myself better than every person who ever said a word to me. now if i see them i just walk by and if they say hi I just look confused and say "sorry, not ringing any bells, do i know you?"

Not sure how she didn't take that as motivation to better herself, not off herself. She had a pretty face, and was 18. Most of us have been bullied and I can honestly say that it motivated me to get out, play sports, socialize, work out, etc etc. Everyone handles adversity different, but the depression/bullying came about her weight, something that was very much in her control. Not saying she should feel ashamed for her body type, but it's clear she was insecure about it, didn't like being overweight.. Really baffles me why she would kill herself as opposed to getting on a treadmill.

Some of you asked how I deal with it.
Talk talk talk communicate with her, all the time. Every day I come home from work I ask her how was school, what happened, her homework.
I tell her not to fight back, not to insult them, try to give her the mature way out.
Teaching her about humility, humbleness.
There was a girl that constantly kept messing with her, talking about her behind her back to other girls. Always trying to start drama.
And I kept telling her focus on your studies, focus on you, sooner or later she will screw up.
This 12 year old girl put a choker collar on and snapchatted choke me baby to everyone.
Serioulsy, 12 year old girl. Already had made out with a bunch of boys. I saw her, booty shorts so small and tight they suffocate her little body. And I thought where are her parents.
Anyways she sent nude pictures to a boy at school, boy showed everyone, the pictures ended up with the principal.

And that is exactly when I told my daughter, you see.
I told you, she will sooner or later make a mistake she cant go back on.
So her dad had to sign her out of school, literally had to change schools.

And I tell my daughter, do you see what she did.
She hurt her family, she hurt herself, she did not hurt anyone, but her family and herself.

Anyways again thank you for the reps brahs.

Main thing is talk and communicate with your daughter always.
Mine is 12 now, she spends most time in her room on her phone, or doing homework.
But I always every evening call her out to spend time with me, and talk about anything.

Morals, and self respect, education we talk about this every time almost.

I remember when I was 12, I just played video games, played sports.
If i did not like a boy, I just didnt play with the *******.
Didnt talk to him or talk about him.

But girls man.
They hug each other, compliment each other in person, but soon as they turn their back to each other the chit talking starts.

My point is its the parents fault. The kid is just learning how to adult, and its the parents job to teach them. Not the school, not tv, not the internet. Until you find a way to make people actually want to be parents, this crap will keep happening. Kids are kids, they are little chits and they will say and do anything they can get away with. And since schools cant do squat anymore for fear of getting sued...they can do pretty much anything short of using weapons and not get more than detention.

Ive been there, Ive been bullied and beaten because I was quiet and weak and one of the teachers kids. It did not end until I threw a kid into a desk and cracked his scull open at the end of the year and was sent home for the remainder of the year.

You can spout all the BS you want, but I know what its like and I know whats needed and being all sad and trying to end bullying is the biggest waste of time I can think of.

Its no different than parents complaining video games made their kid violent. No, your neglect did. Trying to be friend instead of saying "well if you cant handle what people say, youre not allowed on the internet anymore" does nothing. But no one wants their kid mad at them, because thats hard.

Was in the War, mentally fuarked
scared of people, hated people, seen too many die, killed, massacred.
Poor, parents had no money, I had not clothes or shoes.
Was bullied, jumped, beaten etc etc.
I hated every single person there, sat in class never uttering a word to anyone for 2 years.
And one day I just started speaking English, in 2 years spoke and wrote like I do now.
Then I started to defend myself, after that started to defend other kids that were bullied.

At my senior year in HS I was the only kid that stepped up to a group of urban youths that wanted to jump a little Asian kid.
I told them, anyone touches him, he will die.
The urban youths just looked at me and shut up.

Started saying things like that ***** is crazy, look at his eyes all red.
I had enough of it brahs.
When you see people getting killed, massacred, walk over dead bodies you look at other human beings as insects.
Literally could have killed all of them and felt nothing at that time.
Took me many many years to understand life again, to trust people, and after I had my own kids I truly learned what love is, what life is.
now all I want to do is make sure they are happy in this life, I do my best to teach them.

As someone who was bullied throughout elementary school for being half-race, younger, bowl-cut hair, and just generally smaller/weaker/less mature than everyone else, never once did I consider, although I was certainly depressed alot.

The suicidal thoughts didn't start creeping in until I started experiencing more adult stressed, IE wtf am I going to do with my life, am I letting my family down, are my friends proud of me, am I proud of me?

alone, sure these thoughts weren't suicidal. but combined with the constant undercutting of my mom and brother trying to push me in whatever direction they wanted, it all compounded and started weighing way more negatively on my psyche than the bullying in my younger years ever did.

fuk all you *******s who call suicidal people selfish. it doesn't matter what the cause is, but it matters that they've reached a mindset where they think that is okay, and all you're doing is ****ing ****ting on them more for expressing how they feel?

and then you *******s wonder why you never knew that the people closest to you were suicidal. I'll tell you, I never felt more embarrassed and hurt when my gf told me last night i was selfish for even entertaining the thought of suicide, and didn't even try to understand or comfort me. if anything, its driving me closer to it the more I think about it

I was relentlessly bullied, it messed my life up. Then 16 years later I discover meditation, and a year later I realise happiness comes from within, if you have a place in your mind to go to where all thoughts are irellevent then you have the power to deal with external influences.

Now I just realise for me it was all part of this life's lesson.

This is why I think it is super important for mindfulness meditation to be taught in schools, however unrealistic because TPTB would never allow people to deviate from the norm like that. Self expression is seen as a bad thing.

I got bullied pretty bad and i almost topped myself, i just didn't have the guts to go through with it. "Friends" stood by while i got picked on. It made me realise that most people are kunts who only care about themselves.
Fortunately I had a few brahs who stuck together.

We beat on each other and even hurt each other, but were impenetrable to the outside world. My 2 closes mates and I are still tight to this day although living in different continents and countries. Now we are a Tradie, an Arty Musician, and an Engineer. I am always grateful that I had those solid-gold brahs to get me thru those ages of 13-18. My straight-laced parents always encouraged my friendship with these guys. One (Tradie) was terrible @ school, should have been held back actually but he already failed Grade 1 and was already 2 years older. He smashed his older neighbor when he was 9 and used to smoke in elementary school. Other (Artsy) was into smoking weed, tattoos, metal music, these things... Together we got into chit, but somehow I think my parents knew we were all good people and looking out for each other. Grateful af in hindsight.

It's sad to say and to judge, but I believe parents have A LOT of responsibility when it comes to raising a child. If your kid suicides you have to look back and regret. Terrible.

She was actually very attractive. What was the bullying about? Her weight? I don't get it.

She was probably the type of person who internalize the bullying, hence her family and friends being completely oblivious to her struggles. I'm also the type of person who internalizes, so I can understand where she's coming from. However, I guess I'm lucky because I never really experienced bullying growing up (other than a few instances here and there). I can't understand what drove her off the cliff, given that she's attractive and nothing externally wrong with her other than being a little overweight.

I have 3 daughters (yes I know I am fukked) and I know first hand about this bullying chit. My daughter got bullied her freshman year bad. Why? All because some boy liked her and some fat girl that couldn't get the boy's attention took it out on my daughter. She got her friends to turn on her too. She would cry almost daily and her grades took a turn for the worse. Principal couldn't do chit about it so this went on the entire school year. Eventually we filed a police report and the bully's parents were notified. This put an end to it but at the same time I told my daughter to toughen up. I told her she needed to defend herself and get some friends that will back each other up no matter what. Now she is one tough biatch when she needs to and no longer that frail softy she once was. Thankfully she learned from this experience.

I remember being blown away when a couple chick friends I graduated with held resentment towards some of our female classmates even years after graduation. People they were "friends" with all their lives and still commented/liked on each others ******** profiles. By this point even the biggest ******* from school I have neutral feelings about at worst. Even back then, we'd get in fights at 3pm and be playing Halo together at 6pm lol.

Fighting daily was recess, the two teachers and janitor would sit on the log outside of school
and make bets
it was like gladiator school
