In reality, functional refers to being able to perform a specific task. This has been my issue ITT from the beginning. Instead of trying to understand that, you decided to lash out at me for no apparent reason

Non-functional training: Lifting 500lbs in the gym for two seconds and breaking your spine eventually, or dying of heart attack at the age of 40

Filled with bones its probably around half filled with water so maybe 125ish lbs water, 50 or so lbs bones and a 15lb ish pot.
So only around 200 but anything that heavy and boiling hot so it cant be held against your body etc gets awkward.

The closer we approach the uncertainty of life's ending the more we wish to trade all of the things we have acquired in exchange for all of the things we have lost: wealth for youth, knowledge for fresh curiosity, resignation for hope. We'd trade our wisdom for new experiences, but it is wisdom that will teach us that at the end of the road the only new experience is death.

If you would just admit the you're applying the word incorrectly, we could move on from this. If you'll simply note that I have never once criticized your methods or training preferences.

you could take any pro fatman, (strongman), that can lift a car over their head, yet get tired and worn out within a few minutes if they were to do a real manly physical job
this is due to weight lifting illusions, it does not give real strength

Seriously, fat guys have found another way to ruin the gym.
It's a goddam YMCA, and these fat out of shape douchebags with their Adipower lifting shoes, knee sleeves, wrist wraps. lifting belt take up the power rack for 2 hours straight doing their ****ty 'powerlifting' low bar squats (which aren't even real ****ing squats btw, olympic lifting squats or gtfo). 10 minute rest times, still look like a heap of **** day after day.
Stop coping with ur ugly body with 'strength'. Powerlifting is the most useless unaesthetic piece of **** sport ever and it attracts only neckbeards.
Srs. **** off .

Its the "Cool" thing now adays in the gym. I took time off of the gym for awhile and came back and bodybuilding is going extinct. I'm seeing 140 lb 20 year olds in SBD gear now just doing powerlifts and walking around like 250 lb meatheads.

Every powerlifter I've challenged to do a proper oly squat can't even do 1/3'rd of their rippetoe neckbeard squat max
