The last two sentences to come out of his mouth was "let's take a walk". That means leave and step outside, in case that was in any way confusing to you. So yes, it was a straight sucker punch.

Neither of them were in a fighting stance. Rich was even behind a barricade. When right in the middle of talking, when neither one of them has hands up and you just throw a jab, yes that's a sucker punch.
