here let me spell it out for you....this isnt a normal breaking up a fight. The cop is openly armed, the now dead dumbass can easily disarm the cop, take his gun and kill cop and anyone else. Which is what was obviously happening here. You think the guy was just holding the cop down and not trying to go for his gun? Jesus you liberal cupcakes are fuking morons.

The gun owner could've fired a shot into his leg, walked up from behind and tackled him off of the cop, pointed his gun at him and ordered him to get off instead of a 5 second "warning" before shooting him fatally, etc. There were a ton of options other than killing him.

And no, he wasn't going for the gun as you can see in the video, and neither was the cop

You seem like a cool dude from your other threads, so I will educate you. The use of deadly force means shoot to kill. There is no shoot to wound or warning shots. Any training on firearms focuses on eliminating the threat, not wounding.

so dont use the gun? Why couldnt he have come from behind and pulled him off? Using deadly force wasn't necessary. The guy killed was a scumbag, but I dont think his death was justified.

I disagree. And here is why. The biggest danger besides the Officer losing his life is the perp getting the Officer's weapon. That could of had disastrous consequences for everyone. I am not sure if they showed it in this video, but the Officer felt his life was in danger and told the man to shoot the perp. He knew his life was in danger. No one deserves to die in my opinion, but some people make choices in life where the outcome is tragic.

within your first sentence, you have already been discredited. Shoot to wound....lol

How can you see from the video that he isnt going for his gun? The fact that he was acquitted of any wrong doing proves it was justified, not your weird liberal opinion on a message board.

What interests me about that is the guy walks up and the suspect sits up and seems to be complying. Is there more there that wasn't shown?

The perp getting the weapon would've been awful, yes. But looking at the video, he was only holding the officer down. The gun owner could have easily came up from behind, chokeheld the perp, and let the officer draw his weapon and cuff him.

Going for the kill should not be the immediate first response.

Plenty of officers get convicted of wrongdoing when there is actual wrong doing. The problem is people like you who lack training or objectivity and jump to conclusions based on feelings and a one sided news article instead of looking into what actually happened and what the laws are.

You're the type of guy who thinks he will spot a guy about to murder him because he has extensive knowledge of video replays.

I hope you run into situations where its life or death. You'd probably squeal about it.

I don't know what kind of idiot wouldn't comply when he has a gun being pointed at him and is (probably) told that he's about to be killed. At what point do you realize, okay I ****ed up? Maybe he was ****ed up on drugs or something.

Lmfao if you are sad that some idiot attacking a cop, literally sitting on his chest and wailing on him, isn't going to be spending his life in jail. This dude did it right. The perp was dead on scene(hence the chest compressions from EMS) and won't be tying up tax payer money in courts or feeding him the rest of his life. Well done all around.

Using FMJ, yes. Using modern JHP most carry, low possibility but the rule of knowing what's behind your target exists for a reason. The real risk is not pass through but missing the target totally. 80% of police miss their targets...

He's doing what his type does when they don't actually know chit about the topic and just invent stuff as they go along. Cops are overwhelmingly (as in 90% +) not in favor of gun control, and the largest survey of sworn officers to date makes that very clear (1,2). Was of course ignored by the media. I too know or work with many an LEO and not a one in favor of gun control.

A possibility of course. He put down the gun and waited to avoid that. I don't know if leaving the gun as he did was the best idea, but it's a very charged situation and cops arriving very on guard and that's a risk. What the shooter does or does not do greatly impacts that risk.

Still waiting for you to show any threads I have started were intentional race baiting much less "most of your threads are about race baiting"

Even a total moron can see probably 95% of my posts are on the topic this forum exists for (bbing, supps, training, etc), the rest on misc silly chit and politics, and not a one started by me being intentional nor obvious race baiting.
