That's not entirely true. There are international laws, and of course whatever flag your ship is registered under, Bahamas, Malta, Panama, Liberia, etc... can still have some authority over you.

The reach of the FBI is a very long one. If the victim is American, they'll come after you.

Even if i could afford, id rather just go on a cruise then own one of these. Imagine owning one, it costs so much you'll feel you have to get your money worth by being on it often. Then the water will get old and you'll rather be on land.
I guess it has pros and cons but then again, if someone can own this, just imagine what their house or houses and cars look like? Would rather be at home then jump in my car(s) ha ha

Everyone's talking about pirates but what people who engage in drug activities like the cartels?

Especially those who live in the US coastal cities, what if they try borrow, steal, force, bribe or blackmail you to use your yacht only because you're some clean random guy who's not on the DEA radar?

If you can afford one of these, the money required to keep it running is chump change to them. They don't even miss it.

My family is friends with an extremely wealthy family in another country. They're the type of family that has their hands in just about everything there (TV, newspapers, luxury resorts, telecommunications companies, that sort of thing) and everyone in the country knows their family.

They've hosted my family several times when we've visited in the past and it's an absolute eye opener. They legit don't even know how to think about money the way the rest of us do because they've had so much for so long. I've known a few people who have net worths in the middle 8 figures and even they still generally worry about their business or their stock or real estate portfolios Or whatever they are into. But the people like this family we know, they might go to a board meeting once in a while if they have to, have their advisors brief them a little on major decisions at their companies for a bit, and the rest of their days are massages, eating lobster, and shopping or chit like that.
