The interesting bit is that the windows operating system is head and shoulders above apple and linux for mass data scraping, aka surveillance. Many applications and operating systems track and send certain data, but microsoft is notorious for still sending info back to their servers even when you shut it off. As far as "opting out" of surveillance apple wins that comparison and it's not even close. Dare we even mention OS vulnerabilities? I'll spare you.

Good job humans. You Literally suck at reason.
Everything cost a fraction of the price to make it. Fuking lol?

Buy it or don't. They aren't forcing you to do chit.

To be clear, I have never owned an I phone nor will I ever. I don't think they have lead the market since the I phone 3, and android for life.

This year I stopped caring about smart phones.

I used to be a Google fanboy until what happened with that engineer.

I never liked Apple.

I'll probably buy some cheap android next year. Like a OnePlus or a Axon.

This.

Think about all the things in your house or apartment that cost at least $1k USD....probably a TV, a computer the refrigerator a washer/dryer set.....These are items that you expect to last 5-10 years if not longer...but this? this is just a flippin' phone. I'm sure Apple expects you to buy the equally priced iPhone XI when it comes out next year too. Will you naysayers be in line for the iPhone XI next year after buying the X this year?

I don't know about everyone here, but I like being as debt free as possible.

No fanboy but the only other phones that have the same supported life and quick rollout when updates are released are the Pixel phones which are expensive too but compare price-wise with the non-special-edition iphones. Also the integration between Apple products is slick. Of course this won't be important to everyone buy but don't just think about hardware when thinking about the value OP.

Somewhere said it costs about $370 for the manufacturing for the X since it uses components that are above those of most high end phones (samsungs, iphone 8 etc), add in distribution, marketing, r&d costs as well as all the people along the supply chain taking their cut you'll see it isn't an astronomical profit margin for Apple like you'd think.

People are actually stupid enough to pay that price for a phone, so I dont see whats wrong with Apple catering to that market, it's actually pretty smart of them. They can polish a turd and price it at 2000 and you'll still get iFans who will eat it up. You actually gotta mire the brand recognition and status power Apple has.

I'm still on One Plus One crew ... Could do with an upgrade, but aint broken so no need to replace yet.
