There's just too many negatives to OC, to justify the rare times where it would be an advantage.

Your thinking about it logically like a smart person.

Someone about to commit theft or a violent crime is neither smart nor logical. And if they so happen to have a gun, your definitely going to be target #1.
I'm also thinking about it as a person who keeps an 'ear to the ground' for these types of incidents and has for years and years. So, I'm also thinking about it like a person who is fairly aware of the real world actual fact that open carriers arerarelyattacked. Like, struck by lightning levels.

Well, like I said, I wouldn't pay attention to what anyone else says or does, but as long as you don't go balls deep and just use some play money you're fine.

Oh look, discussion about open carry by people that have never open carried. Complete with compelling arguments such as "you'll be shot first!!!1!!!" and "MUH element of surprise!!!"

For most people the Answer for #1 is 0, and by proxy #2 is also 0. Now for the sake of argument lets throw from fake crimes in there, and say 2 crimes have been committed against you by an armed perp while you were NOT/CONCEAL carrying. Both of these times he had the jump on you, drew his weapon, and as we know you DO NOT draw on a drawn gun. He gets ur stuff and goes free.

Are you willing to re-do both these scenarios with OC? Maybe he never tries, maybe he shoots first? Maybe he tries and shoots when he gets jumpy because of your gun?

IDK all in all really Risk/Reward just isnt there right now. Element of surprise is a much bigger advantage since your trying to deter something which probably wont happen to you ever anyways.
Ok, but what about this: say, hypothetically, you snap a pic of some upstanding citizens brawling in the street, and they hypothetically get mad at you for being a different color and not knowing how old you even are, and so although they are unarmed choose to attack you because they have you out numbered by like 8 and plus jumping people is something they just do for fun and World Star likes anyway, so may as well.

Now say hypothetically drawing your concealed carry in this instance deters them from attacking because they don't want to be shot.

In this truly hypothetical scenario, would OCing have prevented them from even trying to step up in the first place? Maybe.

ayyy

True story. As in, if the presence of a gun makes them break off, well, probably the presence of a gun would keep it from happening in the first place

Open carry and deterrence.

Open carried .44 magnum backcountry hiking in Yellowstone. Was not attacked by any bears, bison or wolves.

OC while camping /hiking in the Colorado mountains. Was not attacked by any cougars or moose.

That said, Would not OC if I had the option to conceal carry in a populated area, mainly because it just seems a bit over the top if it's not in an area where it's normal to see people open carrying. I prefer to be a little more low key.....

I've only shot a revolver once in my life and I couldn't hit the broad side of a barn, it did have some kick to it though. Wasn't a very big revolver.

So I checked and my last Glock purchase or acquisition was an FDE G19 Gen4 in May of 2014 for which I paid $595 (had to have FDE, had to have itnow, were hard to find).

Fast forward3.5 yearsand it's a new G32 Gen4 for $425 + Tax. Not bad. Except for the 3.5 years part. Got distracted by the VP9 and Shield.

Do both.

Power Cleans are more about learning to express the strength that you have as power and are rather more technique dependent to up the weights used, they are not particularly good for developing strength or size. Deadlifts are for strength. *Tim Taylor grunt*

you boyos have any new years resolutions?

i'm not huge on the resolutions thing but one thing i want to try an actively do is not be on my phone so much. I'm not as bad as some of my friends, but i catch myself on it a lot.

There's an app called Moment which can track you screen time and give you metrics to how long you use it each day which I'm going to try. My friend used it and its pretty eye opening when it puts the actual time spent on the phone in front of you
