Greece is poverty.

The Greeks built the pillars in sections because they didn't possess the intelligence/knowhow to build with monoliths.

Mind = decimated.

It doesn't stop there either.

All the pyramids, mounds etc found across the world have correlating mathematics linking each other globally, indicating a worldwide civilization that was highly advanced (and not a bunch of pagan degenerates as mainstream science would have you believe).

I realize that 100% of you *******s won't watch this, and even if you don't, at least try and watch the first 20 minutes or so.

Why are we being lied to about our own history?
Not to be a buzzkill but it doesn't sound legit that they knew the earths circumference. The whole 60 stones times total degrees thing sounds like a coincidence more than anything

Show me any evidence of latitude being measured by anybody, for any reason, in any measurement units you like, at or before Stonehenge was built. Otherwise the 'maths' your picture shows is meaningless.

That's how the scientific method works. Theorise, collect evidence, adjust theory as necessary. It's worked very well for the last few hundred years. It's not for postmen.

It's pretty clear if you study some of the modern findings/theories that there was an advanced ancient global civilization that has been lost (probably due to asteroid/flooding). A lot of the Graham Hancock theories/beliefs are pretty hard to logically refute. The fact that the sea levels are much higher now than they used to be... as well as most cities being located along coastlines... would indicate that most of the evidence is probably underwater. They've found numerous cities/structures off the coast of the Arabian peninsula, India, China, Japan, Turkey, etc ... but underwater archaeology sucks so far.

What the coastlines looked like in the past (Japan used to be connected to Asia with a giant sea in the middle):

Gunung Padang in Indonesia is another interesting one. Estimated 20,000 year old pyramid. I have hopes that it is finally is allowed to be investigated (the archaeological community is delaying it on purpose) and it rewrites history.

You really do get a sense that mainstream academia is doing everything it can to dismiss anything that would rewrite history and destroy the narrative they've been pushing for 100 years. I dunno if it is a religious thing, or these people don't want to made to look like idiots, or maybe there is some damaging ancient information/technology that they don't want to let known.

I think the factother that people studied the stars and constellations helped. If you think about it studying the stars is mathematical.

So if you base something on stars and you use measuring instruments then it will appear like you use high math but in actuality you used the stars as a guide.

Now let's look at it this way staring down to earth can be looked at as an arc. But anyway what I assume was done was plotting based on the stars then backing that up with sun measurements.

My personal opinion is that stonehenge is like a compass/calendar/clock. I am sure at certain angles if you draw an imaginary line it will 'touch' certain stars.

Modern man knows very little about the study of stars so it seems like Greeks to us.

Perhaps I should rephrase then, the stellar events that happened in the past modern man is still trying to figure out, that together with the fact that people before relied on the stars and the Sun for a lot of stuff makes it harder to figure out the significance of Stonehenge etc.

https://sservi.nasa.gov/articles/old...nar-calendars/
Link above shows lunar calendars predating stonehenge and NASA is trying to figure them out, so proves my point.

Lol'ing hard at this video.

First, this is what's known aspseudoscience. The history of these bogus claims can easily be googled.

But the reason I'm laughing, is he is literally giving his talk at "Potato Head Beach Club" (pause video at 0:40). You just cant make this stuff up.

The talk itself is also funny, being given at some kind of beach resort- listen to the crowd- almost like trying to give a "scientific" talk to some whacked-out crowd at a rock concert. I'm waiting for the crowd to chant "One more song!, One more song!" during this video.... (the reason the talk is not being given at say, an actual scientific/archaeological conference, is because the material involved is a joke laughed at by nearly all the rational, mainstream scholars).

No, this is not some 20,000 yr old pyramid. You are looking at a natural hill of volcanic origin that happens to have some ruins (much more recent than 20,000 yr old) on top of it. People like Hancock are known as "pseudo-archaeologists", whose work isnotpublished in peer-reviewed journals. Instead, they publish books, because no there is no scientific peer-reviewed process for publishing a book. Joe Schmo can publish a book lol.

Ummm everyone clearly recognizes that there are more recent ruins dating 5-10,000 years old on the site. What they are saying based on the lidar, ground penetrating radar, and drilling is that the more recent ruins are built on older ones. This is a pretty common theme in history (Old Egyptian -> Newer Egyptian, Roman buildings -> Churches, Ancient documents -> Religious Documents) and makes dating and analyzing things harder. As far as i know you can't radiocarbon date stone so you must date the earthen material. This is why Gobekli Tepe was such a gold mine because it was buried and undisturbed. Same deal with this possible 20,000 year old pyramid... if they can excavate who knows what they can find. Yet, once again ... the powers at be are doing everything they can to prevent it just like they often do in Egypt.

Hancock isn't some wacko. If you actually watch his videos and do your own research its clear he knows his chit. I've yet to see him say anything that is completely unhinged like some of that Ancient Aliens stuff. Most of what he says falls along the lines of, "Building techniques in Egypt are very similar to that of the Incas ... interesting ... why ... how? Let us dig." Then academia and politics come in and say, "No!".

Prime example ... watch the head egyptologist walk away in disgust.... completely unwilling to entertain the possibility that human civilization is much older. Classic example of someone who thinks they're soooo smart/powerful and looks down on anyone else or any competing ideas.

and I have to say this is a completely demented take on archaeology. the whole point of being an expert in the discipline is to add new knowledge. even when eugenics was accepted in the scientific community you still had archaeologists excavating and reporting new findings about ancient civilizations. Hancock is nor an expert on the field neither someone who actually explores or excavates, he's a journalist who blends astrology, pop religion and the inherit limited knowledge of past civilizations to sell books.

The map details Antarctica down to the exact placement of rivers and mountain ranges. Yeah it was from the 1500s (thanks for the fact check) and the experts say you’d need a satellite view to create such an accurate map of the continent. Try digging further than Wikipedia and you might find what I’m talking about

The only ancient map stuff i find interesting and even credible are the east asian ones depicting the west coast of north/south america.

Hancock may not have an archeology degree next to his name but he is extremely well versed in the topic. So much so that i'd say he's an expert.

Actually Hancock and Professor Robert Schoch (who thinks that signs of water erosion at the Sphinx makes it much older than currently claimed) have tried to invite open debate with mainstream scientists on the subject.

Time after time the mainstream scientists dismiss such invitations.

You'd think that they would at least relish in the opportunity to put such 'pseudoscience' into the gutter once and for all. But no, their lack of willing speaks volumes.

-credible individual in the field of archaeology
-has published no peer-reviewed research in the field of archaeology

pick 1.

Just a brief glance at some (non-peer reviewed) books of his tells me all I need to know:

-The Sign and the Seal: The Quest for the Lost Ark of the Covenant
-Fingerprints of the Gods: The Evidence of Earth's Lost Civilization
-The Message of the Sphinx: A Quest for the Hidden Legacy of Mankind.

Just lol at this pseudoscience garbage- exactly what you'd expect from the Atlantis/Ancient Alien/Ancient Technology crowd.

In terms of the Gunung Padang....again, it is a naturally-formed hill of volcanic origin (that many, many, scholars in the field have acknowledged, including geologists and vulcanologists)- hate to burst the bubble. To answer the "censorship" issue: this appears to be an effort to stop the quacks out there from further defacing and drilling into the hill and preserved site (makes perfect sense to me to do this). There has been a petition from Indonesian scientists regarding this.

yes, I checked out the ancient civilization/aliens sort of websites. the logical explanation is that he wasn't trying to describe Antarctica, but rather Argentina up to Patagonia. to accept the "warm Antarctica" theory would be to presume that whatever source he used somehow knew about a far away continent but had no idea what anything in between Antarctica and Rio de Janeiro looked like, including that it wasn't actually all one land mass.

And of course, the most ludicrous part of the theory is that it would've had to happen when Antarctica was ice-free ... it's been at least 100,000 years since theseasurrounding the continent lacked ice (https://www.independent.co.uk/enviro...-a7065781.html) and millions of years before Antarctica was actually "warm" (http://www.slate.com/blogs/future_te...n_t_exist.html). which is something these websites acknowledge, but they look at the stub of land in the map and simply claim it to be as accurate as satellite images... so I guess when you willfully lie anything is possible.

talking a lot about something doesn't make you an expert on it, Rich Piano and Greg Plitt were never kinesiology or biomechanic academics. like, any of us here could just sit our asses at home and pump out content that has more credibility than Hancock. but the point isn't that he's a credible source on ancient civilizations, it's that he takes things people commonly believe in (like religious symbolism and horoscopes) and builds narratives to feed the imagination.

Nor does having a degree. Hancock has clearly read, watched, and listened to every bit of information on what he talks about. He clearly knows his chit. Don't get me started on all the "amateurs" with no degree/formal education that made profound impacts on science/tech/industry.

A hill can still be carved into a pyramid or almost any other structural shape. BTW... no one is claiming it to be a block by block pyramid like those in Egypt. You might as well just say Petra isn't a man made structure ... just coincidental erosion of sandstone cliffs...
