I'm all for finding someone special and spending the rest of your life with them, I just feel like marriage is unnecessary. Both of you keep your freedom and stay happy without marriage. No joint accounts, cell phone plans, car payments, etc. My stuff is my stuff and her stuff is her stuff, keeps the complications out of it

Not true love in the Disney sense, where that person is the one and only person/destined to be. It's more about you caring enough about her and you are willing to make the necessary sacrifices to keep the marriage going. Of course she should be caring and willing to do equally the same for you.

most of that is for things in the event of a death. women tend to out live men anyways so chances are that wouldn't benefit me anyways. I could go line by line but that would seem pretty douchey and I'm not trying to do that. but aside from contributing to an IRA and getting on their insurance everything can be covered with a Will and/or a Power of Attorney. a few other things are for pretty rare stuff like transfering condos or getting rights to copy righted material. don't know many folks that copy righted stuff but that's just me.

I will give you something not listed there. Your wife or husband cannot be forced to testify against you in court. so if you're a criminal that could help keep you out of jail.

Then there is nothing wrong with that as well. Some ppl honestly dont want the long term and prefer short term. Realistically it is normal to get bored, annoyed, tired down the road for a long term. Its not always disney. But like that poster said, it takes 2 to get over those bumps as long term is about building a life together and its never easy.

If your feeling bored and not looking to committ then why keep dragging yourself? Just move onto the next one. If you can stand being bored

marriage just seems so extra for me. It only makes sense if you really want to settle down and have kids.

i just want to cuddle by the fireplace with an HBB and watch horror movies all night long. someone i can go to concerts with, go to the gym with, cook good food with, and enjoy traveling the world with.

i don't think you need to get "married" to enjoy spending time with someone (assuming you're like me and don't want kids) I want to save my money and enjoy my life without any regrets. If a chick divorced me it would wreck me so bad emotionally i don't think i would be able to recover from that kind of trauma. I'd rather find a long-term partner to date and enjoy life with.
