The real “pitbull” not the bloatmaxed ones. She is 41 pounds and game bred from Brooklyn. I rescued her from a assshole that was fighting dogs.

Not saying that invalidates all those stories, but I've already clicked on 2 stories in which the dog is a mix with no pics shown, or the breed is highly questionable in the provided pics. Eyewitness reporting of breeds is largely unreliable.
Its precisely the fact that the dog is a mix of pitbull that make them more violent. If it's a mix of other dogs it wont be mauling nobody.
On that note, I'm leaving work. Again, before anyone responds saying I'm an apologist or excusing the breed for their wrongdoings, no i'm not. I acknowledge pitbulls are dangerous animals, as are all large dogs. I'm perfectly find with more restrictions on larger dogs. My whole issue with the pitbull thing is the witchhunt people lead against them when other dogs are just as capable of violence.

.
Pitbulls have a higher propensity for violence than other breeds. People dont start out hating a specific breed. Pitbulls more than earned their reputation

Exactly, people are acting as if there arent any other breeds out there that are more protective, more loving, and bigger than these urban hellhounds.

Oh look at the beautiful photos of the pits and their owner I bet she thought like you did OP until they ripped her to shreds.
This. She probably argued and told people that her pitbulls are angels and such sweethearts they wouldnt hurt a fly. Probably thought it right up till they eat her from the ******* up.

Yeah ur right, theres more pitbulls than other dogs, and that's why they're responsible for only 89% of disfigurement attacks. Fuking lol.

Is this why places are lifting bans on pitbulls and why different police departments are starting to use them as police dogs cause they believe everything you post ?

This is true most of these attacks blindside the owner. It's not like overtime the dog becomes more aggressive and starts scratching then gnawing then biting. It's just out of nowhere some instinct in the dog kicks in.

This from someone posting "information" from pitbullinfo.org, a clearly biased site skewing graphs to further their agenda? Are you fukking serious, m8?

https://www.pitbullinfo.org/statistics.html
If you peruse this page from your biased source you will see that they tend to use metrics that favour their point, actively avoiding pure statistics. My favourite was this shining example of low-IQ:

"If the DBRFs associated with pitbull-type dogs were multiplied by 3x (from 76 to 228), their risk rate would increase from 0.97 to 2.92 - which would be higher, but still statistically in-line with the risk rates of other breeds."
Boy, a number 3 times higher is higher? Such science, much wow.

But the kicker is that the data they sourced is not even indicative of the population of dogs for the US. This is by the admission of their source! (the AMVA)
In contrast to what has been reported in the news media, the data from this study
CANNOT be used to infer any breed-specific risk for dog bite fatalities (e.g.,
neither pit bull-type dogs nor Rottweilers can be said to be more “dangerous” than
any other breed based on this study). To obtain such risk information it would be
necessary to know the numbers of each breed currently residing in the United States.
Such information is not available.
^From their data source's caveat on their report. If the data cannot be used to determine the level of risk associated with a dog breed, it also cannot be used to determine the safety or relative non-danger of a dog breed.

So, green text name guy... How about you lay off other peoples "laziness" when it comes to looking at information when your idea of researching a topic is googling your opinion and spewing forth the inevitable echo chamber of results you find there.

Dogs using their mouth is a privilege and considered very intimate by them. Their mouth is essentially our hands. It does not, at all, mean it will progress to tearing people up.

Inferring a dog castrated by about 6mos is less prone to future aggression, competition, marking, etc..

so you adopted a dog without considering it's breed temperament? I don't care what the breed is, I'll never understand why people adopt dogs they don't know squat about. Especially when the breed ends up being one that is potentially dangerous.

That's an assumption you're making based off how he got his dog. He never said he didn't know the temperament or anything else about the dog. Just that he wasn't initially seeking out a pit.
