Whether it warranted her getting punched is debatable. People can be rude, it's your own decision to get in someone's face or simply ignore and leave. Again, if you would punch a guy for getting in your face, then you should punch a woman as well.
Why the different treatment? Do you believe you can punch someone, only after you've been punched first? Because in certain cases when there's enough threat, you can retaliate even without getting hit first.

No, I would not punch someone for simply 'getting in my face'. I'm never throwing a punch unless actual violence has been initiated against me; man or woman doesn't matter. Not just posturing bullchit like getting in my face.

I can understand why you and others could have a different interpretation but to me a sucker punch is any time a first punch is thrown at someone who isn't CLEARLY ready and willing to fight (squaring up, hands up, etc). This scenario may be a grey area as her hands were down but she was acting aggressively towards him.

Don't think he should of hit her, if she hit him then yeah sure but she was just getting in his face. Then again if a guy did that and got in my face id probably throw the first punch but because its a girl we shouldn't do that? Kinda works both ways if you think about being equal. For me personally i wouldn't hit a girl unless she hit me first or unless my girlfriend got attacked by girls then id join in regardless for protection reasons.

If any gender came up to me and aggressively pushed me in the chest, I would feel justified in punching them.

People forget that although females are a lot weaker, it only takes them scratching at your eyes, or hitting you with a bottle and you're scarred for life.

I have never hit a woman, and at most would have shoved in this situation, but I wouldn't give a chit about a guy laying her out.
