I'm not claiming the missile strike just yet, but I mean boats dont just spontaneously explode on the water. There was some sort of militarized strike on the tanker. Whether it was a terrorist cell or a missile or what. Beings that there is no concrete evidence one way or the other, detaining the crew seems extremely reasonable to me.

Theres even a lot of confusion ITT because the news reports are inconsistent. I dont see how detaining the crew is at face value shady.

Exactly, just like the Iranian navy removing an unexploded ordinance when they saw it isn't shady, either, it's what should have been done for everyone's safety. It's all in the way it's been spun so far.

This is in line with the official US Navy report already released, but Japan and Iran are still telling different stories. Seems like a lot of conjecture from all parties still, and they're tying it to the country of Iran based on the type of boat. I don't know who's responsible, but I dont know that anyone other than the US is pointing fingers definitively. I'm still in a holding pattern here but I do have 2 questions:

1) if Iran is "the biggest threat to the ME" why can't they shoot down one drone down nor use ordinance that actually detonates. Doesnt seem very threatening or imposing.

2) why is it only the US' responsibility to intervene here? Why does the US Navy have the only actionable Intel in such a high trafficked oil transportation route? I feel like at least 1 other person should have some kind of Intel here.

I really have to believe that either Israel or the US was behind this. I cannot see Iran being that stupid, knowing how badly some in the US and Israel want war.

The thing is, it is so OBVIOUS though that the US and/or Israel are behind this, that it almost seems like something else is going on.
