Soccer or what a lot of other countries call football is a great game idk why its not popular here. One of the reasons I guess could be short attention span of americans that dont wanna watch 90 minutes for a game with a score of 0-1 ? or something? Or maybe its the rolling on the ground exaggeration of fouls to get a referees attention? Other than that though I really enjoy watching it and was upset the euro 2020 was cancelled. I heard that majority of MLS teams dont make a profit and it just continues the cycle of not being able to afford good players. Maybe that is it too? idk

Have only ever heard Americans say that they find it boring. Around half the world's population (3.5 billion) tuned in for the last World Cup.

Insulting Americans is not the way to make soccer popular in the USA. Why can't you respect people just find it boring and it has nothing to do with attention span.

Australians, Canadians, and New Zealanders also say it is boring and the sport is not a major spectator sport in those countries.

Sports popularity is determined by the media. More people play soccer in the US than any other sport, and football participation has been decreasing yearly.

The only reason it is still 'popular' is because networks make money from commercials. If soccer added commercial breaks every 3 minutes then it would be a hell of a lot more popular than football.

It isn't a coincidence that every sport in the US is maxed out in spot time vs commercial, sponsors, etc time. Even the fields, jerseys, surrounding fences, shoes, visors, hats, etc, nothing is left untouched by monetization.

It’s soccer fans that are vastly unappealing and gross imo. The crowds are horrible.

Soccer is too sophisticated for Americans.

Americans are - on the whole - pretty simple-minded creatures and are more interested in violence and instant gratification than a game of strategy and tactics.

This is why - most - Amerians should never attempt to watch snooker and probably suck at chess.

Same reason Americans watch NASCAR rather than F1 - it is load, brute and simple. Americans in general have more of a simple culture with a short lifespan - plastic surgery, blm, races, crappy food, loud sports, instagram, social media, brute cars, social justice interest, guns and all this barbarian stuff

US culture peaked in the early to mid 20 century, when it was influenced directly by European culture - the Art Deco period is still peak US period you guys had and I'm 'miring it. But after the 80's, epsecially the last two decades or so - things have gotten downhill. Would sound like a racist ****, but ever since black culture became mainstream in the 90's and started growing more in popularity the US culture lost it's way.
