Ghost of Sushi
Spoiler!
Spoiler!
Damn Ryuzo swinging his tachi with so much speed and skill that it's creating an after image lol. That was a hard duel and it took me many many tries to finally beat him. Tried everything from always dodging to his left to focusing on parrying/blocking and mixing it all up but in the end what worked was being more aggressive rather than countering.

been moving through Tales of Vesperia.
Forza Horizon 4 on and off
Started Prey this weekend holy crap this game is GOOD. Microsoft has acquired a seriously talented developer with Arkane Studios. Thehe 60fps boost microsoft just gave it is nice.
Plus, Arkane is a two team studio! The Lyon studio did Dishonored 2, and Austin studio did Prey. The Lyon team is currently developing Deathloop, so it wouldn't surprise me if the Austin team's new game is revealed in the next year (maybe as soon as this E3).

cot damn, so hard to put down Ghost of Sushi lol. Game is so fun I've been going to bed around 7-8am because of it. Haven't been addicted to a single player game like this in so long.

It's really good and the graphics (even the vanilla remastered) aged so well, it still looks so good until now.
so interesting that they've been the talk of the town when it comes to games when I was a kid and until now, they are.

I recently added Teamfight Tactics (League of Legends) back to my lineup as a zen game. Its actually a pretty good way to just mellow out for 30 minutes.
About 40 hours in to Mass Effect; Andromeda and probably about 65% done the game. Sometimes I really hate being a psuedo completionist because it really drags out these games that don't need to be this long but I still enjoy the Mass Effect universe. For all its shortcomings, Andromeda is still a very fun game imo.

Read into X-2 a little bit and saw some gameplay and I think I refuse to play it lmao. For many of the same reasons you said. Seems like it has a very "fan-service" and j-pop vibe to it and I don't know if I'd be a fan of the combat system just by looking at it. Seems like an unnecessary sequel/money grab that completely deviates from FFX.
I think I'll probably play FF8 next and then try my hand at 12. I've played 13, but wasn't really interested in it's sequels. I'm mixed on whether I want to play 15, maybe if I see it cheap.
Also been playing Civ6 on the side with some boyos and getting rekt by AI

Playing some FF8 right now. The first hour of it I thought I wouldn't like this game because the junction system seemed complicated af and overall just having to constantly switch skills. Still not entirely sure how I feel about it but it is at least interesting because it is very different from any FF battle system.
I am liking the gameplay so far, from the dreamworld aspect, to infiltration, prison breaks, driving cars and off-road vehicles, lol. Got rekt pretty hard in triple triad in the beginning but now that I have some good cards it's a breeze.

FF8 is weird. IIRC, leveling up actually makes the game harder. I still need to go back and finish it one day. Triple Triad is the goat side game.

Have any of you boyos played Dead Rising 4?
I have completed the game and shooting for some of the achievements, so had a good playthrough. I would say that the reviews don't do the game justice. For the most part, I have had a fun time playing it and making crazy weapons, upgrading shelters. Plus you rarely have to escort anyone to the saferoom (by far the most infuriating part of the original). The story is nothing new, but still throws some crazy fights at you.
I'm gonna go for the 'Blackest Friday' difficulty when I am level 80 or so. If anyone has played the hardest difficulty, how hard is it compared to the 'normal' difficulty, at the same character level?

Mirin Sooby game finish rate. I'm still working on Ghost of Sushi 1 month in but I think I'm on the final act and probably gonna finish it soon. Even with this relatively slow rate, when I finish it, it would be the game that I've finished the fastest in many years lol. Tbf I spend a lot of time taking screenshots and I'm a completionist so I'm exploring a lot collecting things.
Already got the most badass looking armor sets for me

Finished FF8 back in HS and loved it so much, the boys around me that time who played it loved it too, the first time I saw people not liking here are here in this sub forum lol. Would definitely play it again with the remaster someday.

I thought ship combat in AC Odyssey would get annoying but its actually pretty fun. The sailing is almost too realistic. If you go out into open water, the waves get pretty nuts. If you are sailing into them, you really slow to a crawl as you hit the crest and drop over the other side. Pretty cool though with my ship full of Spartans as we go around and fuk up pirates and those ****gytime Athenians.

always feels good getting an ace in r6
also my best duel in Ghost of Tsushima, since I was able to utilize most skills in the Stone Stance, except for parrying. (lethal difficulty)
Shame the base ps4's video capture quality is low. Another reason to play this game again once it comes out on PC.

Finally beat Andromeda -- took me about 60 hours to complete the main story and all trackable quests. Honestly that game wasn't near as bad as the reviews made it seem. I didn't run into any gamebreaking bugs aside from enemies spawning in walls on the first planet and then it didn't happen anymore after that. Everything ran really smooth and overall the game had an interesting storyline at least.
The crew characters weren't very compelling, Vetra and Drack seemed to be the best of the bunch but they were all very one dimensional. The interest was discovering the Galaxy, which was well done. Too bad EA forced Bi9ware to transition to the abomination that was Anthem.
Now I just started up Dragonquest 8 for a run through on PS2, and will end up playing Resident Evil 8 once it launches as it looks really good.

Just finish FF8, kinda mixed on it. Battle system was interesting but felt broken and exploitable to the highest degree at the same time lol. Story kind of a mess at a lot of points. Not a whole lot of character development and they kinda just get ignored along the way. Main character (Squall) not really likeable at all lol. Would have enjoyed it more if there were more dream world sequences.
I thought Laguna, Kiros and Ward would have made much better characters lol and would have made for a much more interesting story. A goofy trio who somehow ends up saving the world or sum chit and find themselves in the most unlikely of situations. Seemed like best of boyos would have beers with/10. You don't really get that out of the main party, they just seem to be along for the ride and don't really add much.
overall the game was just good but left me thinking it could have been way better. story wasn't all too compelling. Waiting for FF 12 to be on a deeper discount though so may hold off on that.
