my point is that a protein bar might be a good substitute for your sweets unless you'd consider it cheating. the RXBAR is good and so is the Quest.

Yesterday was what will probably be my hardest day of the month. Went over a friends for a bbq and some college football. My game was on prime time. I even brought a bottle of whiskey cause showing up without it in this crew would raise some flags and I don't like stating my goals to people irl.

Drank my water and smoked a cigar. We're gonna make it.

For reference over the past year I've had 2-4 drinks 99% of evenings. I'm now over a week into this.

I drink probably once a month..but on that 1 night I normally black out and wake up thr next day feeling like **** with no clue what happened the night before. Time to stop all together.

A few drinks everynight just out of habit, 3-4 beers easy or if drinking bourbon it probably works out at 6-8 standard drinks.

Like Polaris said working at home (always at home on lockdown) hasn't helped but I'm not getting blackout everynight.

And like MrBourbon said, the weight moves fast when I stop drinking.

The only withdraws so far have been caffeine headaches because I'm not drinking as much coke as a mixer. Bonus - I didn't have to get up in the night to pee.

Proud of all you brothers staying the course.

Sundays will be the tough day for me. Usually have the NFL on while I work around the house doing chores and drinking beers.

250 ml of Captain Morgan mixed with Diet Coke, and then a solid 0-4 beers on top of that depending on the day.

In Calories that translates into 550 Calories in liquor, and another 0 - 550 Calories in beer.

Wasn't drinking that daily, but more than I should've that's for sure.

Fair.

Just saying 1k+ Calories in alcohol when you drink is crazy if you think about it, and encourages us to avoid drinking.

Day 3, have contemplated grabbing a beer from the gas station (30 sec walk from my house), about 10x/evening. Haven’t caved yet. It’s like nothing feels fun. Everything is so boring and is un-entertaining. Already know for a fact after this month I’m going back to my old habits.

hope you fellas stayed strong through the weekend!

Sunday marked 6 weeks without a drop for me.

It gets easier- the first week or two was the toughest. Stay the course and you'll reap the benefits- better sleep, more motivation in the AM, bank account will get fatter, midsection will get leaner.

Day 4. Yesterday (Sun) I wanted a drink bc I cut the grass & watched football which is usually prime time for kicking back with a beverage for me. But did not.

Sleep has been very good. Had some Delta 8 Sat night and slept incredible - did not give that up for Sober October but I rarely use it and only right before bed since I'm a light sleeper of piss and sleep meds freak me out.

What do you Brahs do when you get that feeling that you just gotta drink?

For me I try to go for a walk and get some sun if possible.

I also eat some really spicy food because apparently spicy food activates the same neurons as alcohol. Interested to know if you Brahs like spicy food?

I take niacin as it was originally used in AA before big pharma got on it.

Listen to motivating music. Nothing sad. Rock music picks me up a bit.

Go for a run.

Watch a comedy show.

Anybody else just get that deep pit of depression hit them in the gut and you just don't know what to do other than have a beer?

I find this mindset interesting, you don't feel like the detrimental aspects of drinking are enough to curb that feeling? Genuinely asking because if I feel like drinking then I just think about how much weight I tend to gain and how it usually impacts my following day.
