I'm going to try to flat bench for the first time soon.

I'm still in a lot of pain and some movements I just can't physically do right now because lack of range of motion in my shoulder capsules.

I'm trying to get the gym to buy a safety squat bar for all the torn rotator cuff guys.

I'm being very cautious. I can't afford injuries.

All of my injuries have been from work (installing furniture)
So I'm building back a routine to try and bulletproof myself a bit.

I will probably give it a few weeks.

I am going to do DB incline 75% of my chest days and barbell every 4th chest day.

Miscers don't get that most people stop lifting and going to the gym at 30. Now with Covid I'm literally the only female in my gym lifting weights and I'm 50. I'm sure I look ridiculous but I don't care as I've been lifting 4-5x a week since 2011 when I'm not injured (no EOD in terms of pre-2012).

The injuries can kill you after 40. You just have to keep pushing through them. Lower energy levels also kills you.

Shoulder issues prevent a traditional bench but I’m shooting for a 600 lb close grip by the end of this year at 37. Covid shutting my gym down really hampered my progress.

Leo, in all seriousness, if you're constantly being set back by injury then stop training in these low rep ranges.

Heed the words of Dr. Mike in this video. Live to lift another day. Consistency >>>> ego.

Have you ever considered competing in strongman? You seem like you could be really good if you invested some time into it.
“Steroids is now just a word that the lazy and ignorant use to describe any guy that has more muscle and dedication than them”– Mike O'Hearn

"I am like getting the feeling of cumming in the gym; I'm getting the feeling of cumming at home; I'm getting the feeling of cumming backstage; when I pump up, when I pose out in front of 5000 people I get the same feeling, so I am cumming day and night. It's terrific, right? So you know, I am in heaven."

Most of my injuries are from work.

For example I was carrying two sheets of plywood out of a building. There was trash on the stairs and I slipped which had the plywood fall against my neck.

Then I had to keep working with it for a month and when I got home my battery was dead and when I pushed my car uphill out of a parking spot I messed something up bad.

I have a pretty terrible lower back but I’ve been working on getting it back to tip to start being more competitive, whether it be strongman, bare knuckle boxing, mma, or football, maybe all of them idk.

That doesn't even make sense.

So you have seen people (miscers?, irl people?, other internet people?) get on juice and then think they could beat up mayweather, play NFL, etc....

and to show them they will never get close you posted a video of you benching?

Do you believe there are some juicers out there that are more athletic than you?

What's wrong with saying that very few over 50 in our gym, especially women, and that I'm jealous of Tom Brady? At least I can use his electrolytes and foam roller, and that could help Leo and others. Leo should read "The TB12 Method" from Tom Brady as it could help with work injuries.

You should read it and STFU, instead of being salty to people over 50 who lift and post on a bodybuilding forum.

I'm not salty to anyone over 50 who lifts

I'm talking about being 50 and mentioning chit like Tom Bradys electrolytes and a foam roller. U fkn wot m8

What's wrong with using Tom Brady's electrolytes and foam roller? They've helped me with horrible leg pain, especially after F45 workouts and leg days.

Newsflash: it's harder to recover when you're older. I don't recover from a singles tennis match now like I did in my 20s. Use what you can to keep you active to play the sports you love.

What exactly is your point?

You want a fukin cookie because you still go to the gym at 50, and you think it gives you an implicit right to talk chit to everyone else who lifts more than you?

PEOPLE WHO LIFT consistently in general are the minority, not just boomers... i don't get your point. This is a site for people who do lift, and many people who've been lifting for a long time will still be lifting at your age. My father is exactly the same age as you and lifts significantly more, and doesn't have a beer gut. Yeah, it's not normal for someone 50+, but being in shape is just not normal... period, which is why the western world has an obesity crisis, so i'm not sure why you think you're so special among your peers on this forum.

I don't really get your angle with this thread or what response you expected, you posted a mediocre incline bench then called out basically everyone who lifts more than you. Are you an insecure man? It it validation you're seeking with this thread? If not, then what exactly?

Also, it looks like 170lbs in your video (45 + 10 + 10 each side + 45 bar = 175). Is there a plate hiding behind the 45's we can't see?

Why are you acting so stupid? Being an oldcel and lifting doesn't give you a right to talk chit to everyone else, especially when you yourself are not exactly in the best shape. Sorry, but you have absolutely no authority or anything to tell anybody here about lifting.. just because you're older doesn't mean you have the right to preach. What have all your years of experience lifting actually given you? Just a year ago you were eating 800 calories a day to try to cut, that alone is a testament to your level of 'knowledge'. Stay in your own lane and focus on yourself - you'll most likely be significantly happier, you are not in any position to preach. If leo didn't make this thread in such a provocative manner, talking chit to everyone and acting like he's the arbiter of lifting, most likely he would've got just as many props on here as people talking chit... but he didn't, he chose to be an arrogant cock. That was a choice. I have more respect for guys like kaz who's significantly older than you both, in better shape, and at least humble about it and tries to motivate others.

People that lift in general are the minority, people who lift consistently are an even bigger minority. Not just older people. So what? There's still plenty of them. My gym has multiple people 50+ in it at any time, sure they're the minority compared to the general population, but so is everyone else in the gym regardless of age..

Honestly i think sometimes you just post for the sake of opening your mouth.

I don't disagree.

Not sure if serious. What helped Tom Brady avoid injuries were rule changes to treat quarterbacks like fragile snowflakes. I say this as a long time NE fan, and fan of him as a quarterback, but he's a total douche with his TB12 crap and selling snake oil like concussion water.

It's not 175.

I am teaching a novice friend of mine.

His first time doing incline was working out with 105. So I put 2 10s on each side for his first set not knowing where he was at.

I then threw on 45s for me. There are 5s and 2.5s on the outside.

Of course being a novice lifter when I asked him to film it and I stated get all the weight in the frame he thought I meant the entire bar.

If it had been someone that knows about lifting obviously they would have filmed one side or in the mirror.

Obviously it's dumb to put the big plates on the inside when your training partner is using 100 lbs less than you.

I trained with an IFBB pro and she measured me at 16% body fat in 2014. I just didn’t stick with her diet as it was gross. I learned a lot from her—more than I did the 3 years before when I was just on this site. Men in the gym tell my me form is perfect. Very few women use the machines and I’m consistently the only woman in the free weights section. You saw my pics where my delts and tris were jacked in 2014. That’s when she was my trainer.

I consider myself an expert in tennis and a semi-expert in bodybuilding.

But my post wasn’t about bodybuilding.

My post was about using Tom Brady’s electrolytes and vibrating foam roller to help me with lifting and tennis. Sheesh. You don't read posts from me or EOD, you just launch into essays because you're angry with us.

Well they have helped me a lot. I had terrible quad pain last year from doing a high number of squats and it caused me to take a fall stand-up paddle boarding. I ordered the TB12 electrolytes and the pain went away. Then my uncle sent me the foam roller and I've used that after F45 workouts which are extremely painful, and now I have a back injury so I use the foam roller for that.

If it's just rule changes, then why is Jimmy G always injured? You think he would have learned how to prevent injuries from Brady.

Why haven't other quarterbacks like Drew Brees lasted as long as Brady?

Very few women use the machines and I’m consistently the only woman in the free weights section. You saw my pics where my delts and tris were jacked in 2014. That’s when she was my trainer.

I consider myself an expert in tennis and a semi-expert in bodybuilding.

But my post wasn’t about bodybuilding.

My post was about using Tom Brady’s electrolytes and vibrating foam roller to help me with lifting and tennis. Sheesh. You don't read posts from me or EOD, you just launch into essays because you're angry with us.
We've all seen pics of you from then, you were not elite and you're definitely not remotely close to an expert in bodybuilding, especially when you consider you took growth hormone to achieve a look that was really nothing special (not bad either, but not as insane as you seem to think, especially by nowdays standards). If you want to dispute that, feel free to post the pic you used to share with us all and let the misc judge (maybe im wrong), make sure you give full disclosure about the 'supplement' stack you were on too so ur knowledge can be accurately assessed

I've read plenty of your posts and was exposed to you on the miscord for months, so don't act like i'm not aware of your level of knowledge, not only are you not an expert.. you're largely clueless about lifting and nutrition.

A 'semi expert' does not think chit like eating 800 cals a day is a good move. That's dumb as fk.

Also JFL @ you thinking you're an expert, whilst buying into the dog chit tom brady sells you with his name. Any cheap foam roller and cheap electrolytes do the job just as well. Athletes market this kind of chit because they know the masses will eat up their remarketed product that's triple the price. Tom brady is the way he is because of elite genetics, elite nutrition, and an elite team around him constantly assessing him who are also mindful of his age. I'm not angry with you or eod, i just speak the truth and find your posts particularly silly at times. Being verbose is not the same as being angry.

The lack of self awareness you possess is honestly quite alarming.

I do think it's great you're still putting work in the gym though, but you need to be honest with yourself.

Miscers will just hate on my pics and call me fat even with a 6 pack so it's completely pointless as I get a totally different reaction on the 035 Misc where they have actual maturity and they don't hate females.

I learned a lot from the trainer. Here was my diet then:

am: Oats, protein powder, 1/4 cup nuts
snack: Fat free greek yogurt
lunch: Salad with tofu and low cal dressing, 1 slice sourdough bread
snack: Fat free cottage cheese and 1/2 cup brown rice
dinner: Tilapia or 1 egg and 3 egg whites.
post workout: protein powder
snack: sweet potato and some sort of protein

I guesstimate that was around 1600 calories.

Then she had me lift 6x a week and do 3 hours of cardio/week

She said she charges $1,000 for meal plans like that but gave it to me for free.

I did the 800 calories/day because I am on psych meds now and they cause fatigue and weight gain as side effects. I also was recovering from breaking my face bones and not exercising except for short walks. That's a totally different experience.

It was a poor decision to eat 800 calories, especially since I have an eating disorder, so I consulted with an ED nutritionist who has me back at 1600-2000 calories a day. It's hard as those numbers create a lot of anxiety. But I'm not supposed to count numbers. She has me following Intuitive Eating so that I eat when I'm hungry and stop when I'm semi-full. I

t's a totally different ballgame to eat like this and I'm reading the book now. Whew. Bodybuilders couldn't handle Intuitive Eating as there is no counting and no "bad foods". Food is food and you eat what is satisfying for you.

The o35 are only nice because they don't know you, what about the thread you got roasted in on o35 that was deleted? You omit this to serve your agenda/delusion.

Let me ask you one question

Considering the last 20? or so years for you have been a disaster (by your own admission) nutrition wise, do you think you're in the best position to be preaching nutrition advice to bodybuilders?

lol'd at title but I won't hate. I just pray my shoulders are healthy when I'm 52 and I can still lift. Got 20 years to find out.

If I have to give up lifting idk what I'd do, srs. Probably neck myself.

The 035 guys didn't roast me at all. The Miscord guys came in and roasted me. The 035 guys are still very nice to me 3 months in.

I don't preach nutrition advice to bodybuilders as I have an eating disorder. In fact that diet above contributed to a relapse. I say I KNOW a lot about bodybuilding and nutrition from her, but it doesn't mean I practice what she taught anymore, other than I am back lifting as of the end of August and I follow her program 4 days a week. She sadly passed away so I can only go by what she told me when she was my trainer.

Plus I also was a vegan too, when I was on Discord, although I've abandoned that and added eggs and dairy back in my diet.

Ask me more questions about tennis vs. bodybuilding.

And the only women I know over 50 who are exercising are the tennis players, the ones who do Zumba and one other trainer. Outside of my tennis club very few women I know IRL over 50 exercise.
