pretty impressive how the Islanders played aggressively in the forecheck while being able to keep it tight in the neutral zone and not take dumb penalties under pressure. bolts were scary when they had sustained pressure but they didn't get enough of it. if the isles can stay out of the box playing like this they have a real good chance.

Lightning now 6-15 in game 1's under cooper, including 2-8 while at home. Lightning have been garbage, at least offensively, 5v5 all playoffs.

Habs came out flying...they had their chances would've been a much diff game if they scored first. Would've been able to implement their defense first counter attacking game.

Also, I think they were shocked Vegas scored so quickly after conceding lol that's their specialty they did it to Avs too. They just don't panic.

Habs badly need Petry back they can't keep running Weber Chiarot and Edmundson on 25+ mins. They were really struggling there at the end with Vegas' speed and physicality.

First 6 minutes of the second were spent shorthanded. Game was over after that. Need to stay out of the box and that was all on the habs.

Couple quick whistles on fleury is my only gripe. Habs need to take advantage of those rebounds.

Montreal desperately needed to score in the opening 5-7 minutes. They had us on our heels. But once we weathered the storm and surprisingly scored the 1st goal, we locked in our forecheck pressure, which is a thing of beauty. One thing I love most about this team is how hard we play. Pete DeBoer doesn’t get enough credit. He has all of his players bought into his system. They know their role, rarely out of place, and they play hard. It also helps to have talented players like Stone, Patches, Smith, Karlson, Peitro, Marchy, Tuch etc. I’m sure the Habs will make some adjustments. They’ve proven to be a resilient bunch.

Brutal loss. We gift wrapped that game for the Habs. We'll either bounce back next game or fold just like the Adv did vs us last series. Fleury.. I don't even have to say anything about that..But Stone, Karlsson and Patches need to step the fuk up.

Btw I like Josh Andersons game just by watching the Habs. He's a stud

it was a weird bounce tbf but at that point he has to read the Habs forecheck will beat his defenders to the crease and stay put

Staal gift-wrapped a goal for the Knights. Knights played excellent hockey but not as many high danger chances as the shots made it seem. Weird game.


Isles winning tonight officially makes these playoffs the most ****ed up and awesome playoffs in a while.

Yes, but Fleury's blunder is in its own category of awful. Our forwards needs to step it up. Stephenson being out really hurts. We've never been good adjusting to when a top 6 forward is unavailable all year long. The lack of Center depth will be our Achilles heel if we get knocked out. Was hoping to get an early lead in the 1st p, didn't happen. Lehner looks massive and solid in net though

(He's still not playing) That missed boarding call against Carrier which looked like the most dangerous boarding I've seen in a while. This message board isn't bad, but the ref bitching on r/hockey Reddit and how the series is rigged is getting insufferable

The boarding by Nosek on Weber which also got no call was pretty bad.

Hold on Perry preventing a goal. No Call. Punch to the face of Suzuki, no call. Pick play by Stone, no call.

The only calls the habs have gotten are late in the second which cut up the powerplay between periods. Calls are 11-6 in favour of Vegas.
