Just saw a thread on The Gear Page: "3 hour conference call with dealers - I understand no more firebirds/juniors/ unless you go custom shop - and I also heard no more sunbursts on LP standards - unless you go custom shop."

Keep an eye on those used prices.

Someone also posted this from a few years ago. Could have easily removed the logos and donated them to schools, etc.

What an oddball company.

Just Ibanez and Ernie Ball but they've built him a boatload of signature models and he's always plugging something with his logo on it.

What's Mustaine playing now?

I think they would be :

1. Kramer SM-1

2. Charvel Pro Mod

3. Ibanez JEM

4. Fender Strat, in case I want to do some jazz fusion or broaden horizons a little.

5. An acoustic, possibly a Yamaha classical or an Alvarez, as I like classical guitar and music as well.
Back off, Warchild.

Seriously.

Reminds me of those oddball Japanese guitars in the 70s when they were trying to design around lawsuits. Not my cup of tea but I'm glad this guy has finally got a signature model.

Has anyone in here played both 6 string and bass guitar? I'm thinking about trying out bass, especially since it's easier to gig with it, but I was wondering how fun you find it compared to electric guitar for most songs.

If you can play guitar, you can play bass. Bass is a guitar too, obviously.

Music theory is the same, knowledge of where notes on the fretboard are transfers over easily enough. The scale shapes will be the same. The difference is that bass is more part of a rhythm section so when you have your notes, the question becomes, where to put them.

Plus, you play a different role in the band. You're not the main role in the band and there's no more shredding solos. You're there to hold the song together with your bass lines. That's still a vital role you play because the song falls apart without the bassline, the skeleton of the song.

Just gotta get used to playing that role.

The luthier I worked for about a decade ago did Andersons finishing work. I got to see alot of his guitars unfinished and up close.
He makes really nice guitars.

I just picked up a korina Black Diamond X Pro.
Hetfield has kind of ruined the shape but I've always loved it and Vs.

What do you think of this?:

https://imgur.com/a/jZ48o0J

It's a Kramer Baretta run through a Bias FX, an EVH style amp mod, tubescreamer and a bit of reverb and delay. The guitar is $250 secondhand. I think that is a decent deal.

Did you buy it yet? I think those are $179 new. I got the same one new a while back that I'm in the process of modding. Adding a Floyd, all black hardware, and might holoflash the top. Scraped all the finish off the top of the fingerboard. I haven't decided on a pickup yet. Maybe a Duncan JB or Distortion. Maybe an EMG 81 or Super 77 retroactive. Any other pickup suggestions? Trying to stay $100 or under
