I think it see under $40 personally. Just from experience in these plays. HYLN, FSR, NKLA, CIIC, all done the exact same thing man, no product or sales. After the hype dies down, traders go elsewhere.

I will buy at $30-35 in a month or two.

Would be nice if CCIV stays above 45 for the next few months. Really surprised by the massive sell off here.

The valuation is 24 billion dollars. Klein and the Saudis played speculators. it will hurt the share price.

Porsche coming out with news about synthetic "e-fuel" that could be dumped into existing ICEs and that will drive wheel-to-wheel CO2 emissions down to EV levels, that's some cool stuff. Sounds like the process itself is owned by Exxon and is being licensed out

Inflation fears are picking up pace, energy stonks will be a good place to be if those fears come to fruition

More or less this tbh. I do think it was lame to announce right after RH closed trading but anyone who was buying at $60 was being careless.

That's what JPMorgen is saying. These guys are now saying there will be short squeeze on energy stocks. They think 'retail investors' are going to jump in.

Their silver play pump and dump didn't work out well as they hoped.

Gas prices are already 2019 levels. Yet the demand isn't anywhere close to it.

How will OPEC manage to keep pumping when demand isn't there.

If I saw the news reports of the valuation I would've dumped most of my shares at $59 lol. Reports came out and then like what, 5 min later it takes the big dip? I don't have time to refresh my browser every min waiting for the deal to happen rip. Glad I got in hella early. Looking forward to seeing the future. Hopefully it doesn't disappoint.

Just realized how suspicious that CCIV activity on Friday now seems, the sudden massive nosedive near the end of day and then quick spike back up

Energy about to squeeze like no ones business

last week I bought almost 20k worth of VDE, Chevron, BP, CPE, LPI.

Jump in - nothing has even begun to move yet. Stay away from renewables IMO.

I think buffet definitely expected this one to happen. Plus all this saudi /texas stuff adding "fuel" to the fire

I might actually need to lock in some sales if energy stocks do squeeze hard, haven't sold a single thing so far but wouldn't pass up an opportunity like that

Been adding to xom since last summer avg share price currently at $39.96.

Surprised it’s ran up so much recently.

That and C are two holdings I was buying dirt cheap since June but nobody likes cheap stocks these days so it was definitely a test of the will to hold and keep adding last fall.

XOM is my oil play, also been holding and adding to NEE as an alternative energy stonk option. Possible btd opportunity there over the past week. Little pricey for my taste but wanted to diversify within energy some.

Trading is done by supercomputers/algos.

When algo wants to take profit it will.

Bag holding is real thing.

Its gonna be real now forever because so many new investors are jumping on board due to low interest rate, social media, searching for that next GME.

Flipping stocks for 200-500% is not going to last forever.

In the long run playing options hedge funds / big guys will always win. You can only get lucky few times.

Eventually you're wiped out.

If there is any lesson here is to hold long like think 2+ years on things that you like. Actual stock.

All these meme stocks are just meme.
Lol the fact that markets weren't even that down today is the funniest part. The only part that crashed was crypto & tech, aka the chit noobs who claimed, "it's a new era where valuations don't matter" were buying hand over fist. The market is rotating out of tech now that rates are rising, which crushes growth stocks that have most of their cash flows backloaded instead of slower growth companies that can consistently generate cash flow upfront. If the fed intervenes and keeps rates low, tech/meme stonks will soar again.

This market created a lot of paper millionaires that basically got lucky buying chit like $TSLA but have no idea what to do in a risk-off environment or when the fed no longer props up failing business models.

Follow Buffet somewhat. And I am not saying buy the stocks he did, but find sectors he invested heavily in i.e. oil/energy, insurance etc.

Blue chips are always the best stocks if the market does tank. I think the tech/ev sector is going to really hurt this month especially stocks that ran very hard since last year i.e. tesla, nio, blnk, fcel, plug. Stay away from these stocks for now, the bottom is still far away from these stocks.

Say safe everyone and choose wisely. Investing is about to get tricky, probably less moons.

time to give us an update on some suggested tickers bro, you have been killing it with O&G
I'm all about Canadian O&G because it's what I know, just keep in mind that I work in the industry and have incentive to feel bullish about it.

CNQ, SU, and CVE all have swaths of assets operating and 15-20+ years of crude/gas reserves ripe for the picking. These aren't necessarily huge growth stocks at this point unless you bet on the world truly failing at the clean energy transition, but they can continue producing with their current assets while incurring minimal maintenance costs and pulling in huge free cash flow if WTI stays above $40ish. I'm expecting all three of them to spend the next bit paying off COVID-19 debt and then ramping up dividends and/or doing chit like buybacks.

Without getting too crazy into the nitty gritty details, CNQ is the top dawg IMO from a shareholder perspective because they are absolutely ruthless on the cost control side. But CNQ's stock price has deservedly recovered the most already. SU would be next up, typically not as disciplined on the cost side and needed to halve their dividend when the pandemic hit. But Suncor is on par with CNRL in terms of production and they'll reinstate the full dividend in the near future.

CVE would be the higher risk play. Minimal dividend and struggling the most before the pandemic hit but recently merged with Husky to create the third biggest O&G company out here. I was working with some former Cenovus brahs on my last project and they were expecting Cenovus to be the one taken over when times got tough. Sure enough here they are, but they have a lot to prove in terms of realized efficiencies with the merger and discipline on the cost side. If they do decently then I'll expect CVE to settle at $11-12, maybe $14ish, but pie in the sky would be revenue/profits rivalling CNQ and SU.

And then my overall Canadian O&G thesis mainly boils down to: the billions already sunk in developing our infrastructure on top of the third largest proven oil reserves on the planet combined with relatively low sustaining capital requirements going forward, our upcoming increased pipeline/export capacity (despite KXL's cancellation), and dynamics in the heavy crude market and what's happening with Mexican and Venezuelan output. There's a lot more, but those are the main points.

If we want to talk shorts, I bet CVE is the most heavily shorted out of the three mentioned. People who know the industry know CNRL's ruthlessness, and Suncor has Buffett etc behind it. If there were big guys ramping up shorts, CVE almost surely would have received the most attention
