Here's my absolute best advice and I hope the whole thread reads it. Some of you have seen my other posts on here and might take my word for it because of that.
The best, most achievable and effective 'passive income' is just going to be stock returns, which should be automatically re-invested into more stocks.
All other avenues mentioned in here are great, but not the most effective if your goal is to be wealthy. Your primary effort should go into your primary job, performing the best you can there to either get raises, promotions, or something good to put on your resume for the next position at another company you take and negotiating that income.
If you take:
Person A)has a job, and uses extra mental energy after work to create passive income via say eBay sales, or something similar to increase income.
and
Person B)has a job, uses all available mental energy to over perform at his job, puts achievements on his resume, and puts mental energy into networking for his next job. Then due to his better resume, negotiates a 20% better income than his last job. Then, uses a "lazy 3 fund portfolio" investing strategy, which barely takes ANY mental energy to learn and use and lets his paychecks go into stocks.
Person B is going to become far wealthier over time.
There are exceptions to everything but it's smart to follow the most likely path. Yes, use stocks, but main focus should go into networking and any additional effort into researching better jobs. Forums are actually a great way to connect with people and learn where to look for your next step.
/career advice. That's all you need.
Next step to make it in life is learn how to improve yourself in relationships and improve your relationships/fix mistakes/have healthier relationships.

And well now that I finally have one again, I thought it would be appropriate to give you all an update on my dividend income, net worth, as well as any thoughts on whats to come ahead in my journey of building up dividend income so I can one day quit the rat race."

You somehow believe that is passive and doesn't require much start up money?I save my negs for people who derail legitimate threads of value. The topic at hand is at least worth discussion despite OPs possible lack of credibility. I enjoy getting the opinions of multiple people and seeing the experiences others have had with their investments. I keep an eye on a couple of other "passive" renters who post fairly complex details of their business who are 100% honest about the need to have a full team to keep things going (handyman, lawyer, and a couple cogs in the machine). I enjoy seeing OP's progress in the dividend game so I value his opinion in that regard because that is his focus area.
@OP I appreciate the response. Obviously my situation is a little more complex trying to determine if houses in the area will continue appreciating or not and all the other things that go into it, but that was a solid thought given the parameters. Unfortunately she doesn't want others living with us and it isn't really "splitting" when the 2 of us share our combined incomes lol.

There are tons of ways to acquire cheap phones and tablets. The reason why he's using mostly those is because they consume very little electricity. Most of the apps he's referring to require zero attention by you or very little (check on them once every few hours). The only large recurring expense he would have is his internet bill which would be around $60-100/month. Even if his initial capital is $500. That is still about $20K annually for doing almost nothing. That's a decent chunk of change.
If you are a real nerd and know some programming... it should be quite easy to make 50-100K abusing those app programs.

Didn't see where he talks about data capping by providers and energy consumption,Because i'd imagine his 5 computers and 60 smart phones makes his energy bill/data bill skyrocket.
Another way is buying/sell. Browse Kijiji/Craigslists. Look around Mondays (after weekends when broke people need to sell their chit asap)
If you learn a product/market you can make decent money buying/selling goods.

The vending machine thing definitely sounds legit, but I am not trying to find something to turn into a full time gig. Buffet found something better than vending machines doe; he had pinball machines that cost nothing to maintain. Smart man at age 12 lol
For a bunch of people on this forum that probably don't have a crap ton of money laying around or don't want to risk decent sums of money to make money ... the video is perfect for them. Low risk, low capital, scalable, and solid returns. If the average person on this forum is making 30K ... they're dang near doubling there income.

The best, most achievable and effective 'passive income' is just going to be stock returns, which should be automatically re-invested into more stocks.
All other avenues mentioned in here are great, but not the most effective if your goal is to be wealthy. Person B is going to become far wealthier over time.
There are exceptions to everything but it's smart to follow the most likely path. Yes, use stocks, but main focus should go into networking and any additional effort into researching better jobs. Forums are actually a great way to connect with people and learn where to look for your next step.

Next step to make it in life is learn how to improve yourself in relationships and improve your relationships/fix mistakes/have healthier relationships.

Why not both? plus sky is the limit with plan A and plan b you run the risk of losing that job plus you're on W-2.

Two houses, full-time job that pays around $65k CAD plus a business I set up from a hobby that now pays me approx $55k CAD per year, add onto that the magazine money for my articles on various subjects (they just print my blogs) which is about $65 CAD a week. Am I playing the game OP?
