We're talking about a million over a lifetime... add another million for a Doctoral degree. I'm talking averages... the likelihood of success. Obviously there are anomalies, but I'd say there are much more successful college graduates than successful non-college graduates, or drop outs.
These studies were conducted based on people who went to University in the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s... you know, when you actually had to have a high IQ to get into University. So what is being measured in those studies is the earnings power of people with high IQs vs. those with lower IQs. It doesn't measure the "value" of a University degree.

Paying tens of thousands of dollars and wasting 4+ years of your life for something that is virtually worthless is the very definition of a scam.

You can read the rules and the odds that explicitly show that you'll lose long term, but idiots decide to still play it

Except if you owe $10000 to the mafia but only have $2500 then you should bet all on black twice

College outside of the training for your actual job is a scam for sure

If I could just take my prerequisites for my graduate program, and then do the graduate curriculum, it would only take 4 years total. But no, I have to go through an entire 4 year degree, a ton of bullchit, THEN I actually get into the meat and potatoes of my profession.

This is why tradies have it made sometimes; the schooling shows you how to do the job, and then you fukking do it.

yea realistically everyone should be done in 2 years - however 4 years makes them 2x as money
OFC jobs play into this because most places won't let you through the door w.o bachelors

Obviously there are good reasons for taking them out, but this practice of prophylactic removal of all four wisdom teeth without any good clinical justification, which seems to be commonplace in the US, is a straight forward scam. You likely did the right thing there

The fitness/bodybuilding industry

brb Kai Greene and co. earning hundreds of thousands from promoting bull**** supplements which they claim help them get huge then spend said hundreds of thousands on every anabolic drug under the sun to actually make them huge. If people just stopped falling for this **** these bodybuilders would not make enough money for it to be a viable "job" and we'd stop getting massive bodybuilders existing at all, or at least much, much less of them.

also a disturbingly high percentage of orthopaedic procedures (the kind that you don't need, but we do anyway because it's considered best practice despite not being backed up by evidence, and leave you crippled for months, sometimes for life, unless you get a DVT and die in the mean time)
