Disclaimer: I know this is a comment I have repeated in this thread several times, but I see it as my little contribution to new people or ones who have not visited in a while who are scrolling through this page.

Most things are going well in my life, but I woke up with that dreadful sinking feeling in my gut at 3am. There is no rhyme and reason in feeling like this. Years ago I used to fight tooth and nail, spending hours if not days trying to figure out what caused me to feel like chit and defeat that demon. This approach simply does not work for everyone.

There is only one simple response: I will continue doing what I have to do and this feeling will pass.

I ended up chilling out and had a nice 3am beer, worked on a project, took a nap and came into work early to crush another day. I still feel like chit. All I want to do is take a sick day and go lay in my dark bedroom under the covers for the rest of the day and not talk to anyone. But I've done that before more than once or twice. It doesn't solve anything, there is no magical action to take or pill to swallow that will make me feel better or prevent this from occurring again.

But life will go on. Tomorrow will come and I may still feel like ****, but I also might feel much better. I might feel fuking amazing and end up having the best week of my life. I can't predict that, what I can do is not waste any time trying to find a solution where none exist. Hang in there brahs, we have all made it this far, this too shall pass.

Fukk, guys, it went really well.

Did a ton of networking and got the first coffee with the MD at the bank
Today, it basically was an interview. Had coffee with the second director and an analyst. Just chilled and talked for like an hour. They are looking to hire soon and they told me they want me to sit down with more guys from the team for coffee in the coming weeks. And it's funny, I actually know the analyst. Had drinks with him months back while trying to network for a job (he was at a different bank then).

Fukk, really sounds promising. I've been really sure about other opportunities before, and have been brutally let down after, but I can't help but be optimistic here.

Getting this would literally change my life. Every aspect. Fukk, if this one fails it's gonna hurt bad

Dan: Yeah, because I thought I was gonna see something.
Socrates: You were like a kid on Christmas morning. You said so yourself. The whole trip up here, it made you feel good.
Dan: Because for the past three hours I’ve been waiting to see this wonderful thing.
Socrates: Well, what changed?
Dan: That there’s nothing here but this rock!
Socrates: I probably should have told you that before we left, huh? But I guess I wasn’t sure what we’d find either. Never am. Sorry you’re not happy anymore.
Dan: The journey. The journey’s what brings us happiness not the destination.
I totally feel you on this. Most often than not, when you arrive at the destination it's not what you thought it was and you're left empty. Chasing something that you think would provide happiness but you're left feeling empty still.

Thing is, this won't bring me happiness, it will bring mepurpose. For the first time in over 2 years I'll be able to wake up and work towards something that will challenge me. It would bring additional challenges, but I need purpose in my life so badly right now, and a job that I care about will provide that to me. I've been in limbo for so long I've almost forgotten who I am as a person.

Feeling so down right now again. I just wish my health issues would go away but they never ever do. I might have to start going back to doctors to trying to find out what's wrong with me again. This is just crazy how all this time later I'm still dealing with the same ****. Also, I keep holding off on going back to school for so many years since I can never figure out what I'd want to take up. I just don't know if I'd even have the energy for it or anything. Also, don't really have any interests in terms of career jobs. Everything just seems boring as fuk to me & like I'd be going through the motions for decades in the same job. I just wish I could do something I'd enjoy.

Keep going till you figure it out, do not take no for an answer. You are the only real advocate for your own health. Call the doctor out on not being able to figure out your problem if you have to. Get 2nd, 3rd opinions, etc. I don't care if you've done this before, do it again.

i'm in that position too. ****ing sucks when you're mid-twenties and like this. i wish i had went to school after highschool. in any random program. at least i would have something, or have tried a career. turning 25 in 5 months and still going to be lost as ****. this is my punishment for being depressed and suicidal my entire life. no progress in life whatsoever.

It is just straight impossible to have any confidence or feel cool when you don't know anybody. When I'm just walking around alone I feel so much anxiety and disconnection from everyone. I don't even know if it's possible for me to talk to anyone that isn't depressed. They are on a whole different frequency than me

Bipolar brah checking in.

Recently kicked a 20 month depression with psychosis, like a few days ago...settling into sweet hypomania

Hypomania never felt so good

Seized my recent good mood to apply for a job and hopefully change life enough not to fall back into such a horrible depression

Got a part time job working in a half way house for troubled teen boys...I'm really looking forward to it....Gonna try a job that let's me help others.

i've always wanted to try something like that, but when i sort of have my chit together. i think people who've been through mental struggles are the best fit for mental support roles. i don't like people who've never been through what i've been through telling me they understand me. one of my actual realistic dream jobs was to be a youth counselor but then i realized how hard it was to get a position like that.

Same here man. I have physical energy, but nothing else. Like my voice is really quiet and I just feel tired anytime I'm around ppl. Sometimes when I try to talk it's like I haven't slept in a couple days and I just can't get much out. Also get crazy anxiety and short of breath anytime I try to talk to anyone.

Unless I'm lifting I just feel like I haven't slept in a while

I've been feeling really foggy and tired myself. I feel like its something to do with my mind racing non stop. My mind has a debate over every little thing i do that most people just do without even a slightest bit of hesitation. My mind is working 10x harder than the average person and it just burns me out.

think it's the temperature change for the tiredness. i felt it today as well. 2 hours after waking up, i was extremely sleepy the entire day. i even skipped the gym because i was so sleepy, and that barely happens. i mean i'm usually always sleepy, tired because of depression and stress, but the weather makes it worse.

That could be it. It was 100-113 degrees here for like 3 weeks straight and now we are sitting in upper 70s/early 80s.

If you know where to look you can get your foot in the door, but its low pay..still get benefits... But I hope the biggest reward will be a sense of purpose.... They also training and advancement opportunities.... Not a lot of people want these jobs or are even qualified.... Like you said...if you haven't been there you just don't get it...not even the fuking slightest...

Sorry to hear about your poor situation, but you don't just wake up one day and feel dreadful. Whether you recognized it or not, whether your understand it or not there IS a reason for the way you feel. Its either biological, chemical, physiological, environmental or some combination of those. The challenge now is to determine what's causing it, before you can know how to treat it. One things for sure, drowning your emotions/feelings in beer is most certainly not the way to handle it.

walked in to the gym this morning and saw the front desk girl hugging these guys. ****ing felt so jealous. i'm a jealous and pissed off motherfuker when it comes to anything related to relationships. i can't help it because i've never experienced doing anything with a girl. i'm a dateless hugless kissless virgin. i had the most pissed off workout i've had in weeks. i hate my mind, it's so sensitive. i'll probably be ****ing even more down and depressed for the next couple weeks.

Man I don't know what to do. I'm not funny, cool or interesting. I really don't think anyone would like me if I put myself out there. I'm just awkward and frustrated because of my situation.

Every single time I talk to someone it is some superficial small talk bs that leads to nowhere

You depressed brahs need to get some hobbies,.. I got the benefit of going up and down...but to the extremes.

There is a lot of evidence supporting drum therapy for many things, I say this also because I play hand drums, I picked up drumming in my early 20's. As one of the many interests partially driven by hypomania but I didn't know I was bipolar than...I've always just been that really eccentric guy until diagnosed not long ago...

But I really think the drumming has had a positive effect, I've kept up with it.

I might even start looking into starting my own side business as a drum circle facilitator...

Basically own lots of drums and a van, show up places and coach average people through a drum circle experience... Its a team building and stress realiveng thing that is become somewhat popular for like corporate retreats
But also therapy purposes.

Any depressed brahs interested in drums?

Yeah brahs you gotta fight out of that depression...

I don't just get to flip a switch and get out my depressions, that **** is an endless battle

Even when I make the jump to hypomania, the depression is still there you can taste it in the back of your mind....but now you gotta control yourself hypomania at the same time ...and recognize what your actually doing every fuking second.....its all up to me , I control all the emotions... If I go to far one way or the other, you get psychosis...depression psychosis is horrific,, manic psychosis your the greatest thing since chocolate instant pudding.

Fight that **** boys,,,there's light out there, you got to want it.

If it makes you feel any better, most men don't engage women in deep philosophical conversation. They let the women speak and pretend to listen for other reasons.Hobbies or activities. Nothing is going to change if you sit at home and wait for it to knock at your door. That only happens in movies. If you want to change your life you have to go out and make it happen. Those guys at the countermade themselves known. That's how they got the attention you see in the above scenario.

My best recommendation is to move and get a new job, physically change your life completely and don't give me some BS why you can't because I've lived through that **** to much...

Yet another day with the same bull**** problems. What's new. I don't even know how I'm still alive at this point. Everyday I basically just suffer. I have no control over my health issues since they never fuking go away ever. I mean what the fuk am I supposed to do at this point? I just wish I could be like other people without having to worry about any health problems or anything. I just want to be able to go about my day & actually enjoy it instead of either crashing down in mood or having these different messed up symptoms.

What he said flew completely over your head.

As far as what you just wrote, there are no "normal" people. As far as being a kiss-less virgin ... Hefner (the playboy god) was a virgin till he was in his mid twenties.

You are sitting around waiting for a miracle. The drugs you were given ... they aren't going to help. Your problem isn't that you always feel bad. Your problem is that you take EVERY LITTLE THING and twist it into a negative.

I'm going to say this again and again. You need to go find something physical, that you've never done before, that you think is really hard, and accomplish it. Go run/walk a marathon. Go bicycle across your state. Go skydiving. Go join an MMA gym. Go hiking for a month. You are not going to fix your situation sitting around, doing the same chit you always do, and hoping some magic pill or some female falls from heaven. Motion creates emotion (that's not just a saying ... it's fact). For now on, anything you post that is negative, I'm just going to repost this over and over until you grab some sack and help yourself. I mean... how many more years are going to sit on this forum and complain about the same stuff over and over? Wish in one hand and chit in the other ... see which one fills up quicker.

Been reading this thread because my life has fallen apart, some of you guys just need to change your attitudes, and I guarantee you will make it.

I've lost everything 3 times now, the circumstances change every time, and this last time continues to kick my teeth in every day in new and exciting ways, but the only way to move forward in life is to phukn push with everything you have.

The time before this, I went from owning a company making tens of thousands a month, to fukn poor because the economy collapsed and the company we were working for was wraith with fraud, which didn't show up till work slowed. I took a 80k loss and moved back in with my dad, had 20$ cash to my name. I was in a VERY dark place, I didn't have it in me to keep fighting, and I found a misc thread somehow, full of pictures, quotes, and other motivational things. The misc literally saved my life. I remember seeing this pictureand literally crying like a little Bisch because I realized how fukn pathetic my problems are in comparison, those guys, they had problems, rip to the fallen. There I was, couldn't muster the courage to get out of bed, wanting to die, those guys faced almost certain death, and fukn marched on.

I decided to fake it till I made it, it was godm hard work, I started as a labourer at a chitty 1 man plumbing company, he paid me cash under the table (20$/hr) as many hours as I wanted. I was depressed and hated my life, so I worked 14 hour days, every day, then by the time it was home time, I was so exhausted I would just go pass out, fast forward to last year, part owner of the company, 9 years in, making a decent wage, 30+ employees, dating one of the hottest chicks I have ever met, nice house, 3 nice vehicles, life was good.

Since then, got in a fight with the majority owner (I went for lunch, srs) and he decided to pick **** with me cuz his home life is blowing up, it didn't go the way he thought it would. He fkd me out of my shares, and knows I can't sue him right now, lost 2 lawsuits, cost me a Lot, the gf's modelling company, that I not only helped her build, but encouraged her to go after from the getgo was doing really well, she decided she would rather go bang the millionaires she was meeting. 2 of my vehicles are broken down (blown transmission, other one developed rediculous electrical issues after I had to park it at a friends farm, pretty sure mice), I make 54k a year (was always too busy to finish my plumbing apprenticeship so now I'm a 3rd year lol) renting a ****ty 500sq ft apt, I hate my job, they basically use me for the backbreaking labour (brb 2.5" schd40 pipe needs to be walked around the building, brb 180lbs x 40 lengths), I have to be up at 5am every morning for this **** job that pays me nothing.

Last week I lost my only key to my escalade on site, it cost me over 800$ to get the vehicle going again, it was parked in a really bad neighbourhood with 26's and 10k in stereo in it, I didn't want to leave it, for the first time in my entire life, I had (I think) an anxiety attack. I had 30$ to my name to last me a week and a half.

I almost broke down, how much can a single person take? i posted a little thread in the misc, and someone messaged me "brah, you did it before, you know you can make it again" and he was right. I may have basically lost 7 years of my life, and 30 is a little old to restart your life, but it's NEVER too late to improve yourself, improve your attitude, and improve your life.

I restarted selling LEDs (had a small side business to pay for my chit on my rides before but got lazy so had stock paid for just sitting there) and right now I am holding 120$ cash, that's 4x what I had before. Today I registered to challenge my apprenticeship exam, the test is on nov 9. Last night I had to change my rims on the caddy from 26s to winter rims, and was informed there was a break in, in the park are, a lot of vehicles were vandalized, stuff stolen. My rims were there, my car was untouched but they stole the car cover. I'm so thankful for that. Not to mention, the neighbor telling me all this was cute AF and I got them digits. My dad is getting old, and has been very sick, but i talked to him last night, he said he's actually doing a lot better.

The road out of depression is one step at a time, you have to take stock of the small victories, you need to set goals, not big stupid "lulzbillionairetomorrow" but clear goals, you will feel better when you have something to work towards. Go to bed earlier and wake up earlier, this is something I struggle with, but I feel like less of a waste of life when I'm up early then when I'm up all night. A MAJOR one for me personally is get out of the fukn house. Nothing feeds my depression more then sitting at that house hating life, hating my situation, feeling sorry for myself, and dwelling on every issue that has happened to me, hating the people who were in my life that "caused" this.

To the guys who have no career goals, look at the trades "but that's dumb and for poor people", trades are respectable jobs, where you learn skills you can market ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, should you choose, you can start your own company, or push to the office and become a project manager/operations manager, etc. Work hard, be positive, and most importantly TAKE RISKS WHEN OFFERED RESPONSIBILITY, who the fk cares? It's not your money if it doesn't work out.

We always say when a man becomes successful he is "self-made", why is it only successful people willing to admit they are self-made. We are all self made brahs, your situation in life is a direct reflection of where you put yourself. I came from nothing, where an egg and a liptons chicken noodle packet was a daily meal, I've made it and lost it multiple times, but I fukn refuse to back down, I may lose my way sometimes, I may have to turn around when/if I hit a dead end, But I WILL continue to push onward and upward, because nothing in life is handed out for free, you have to beat your will into this world.

Get the books "Outliers" and Arnold's "total recall" the autobiography. Arnold Schwarzenegger's story is the most amazing display of raw fukn will possibly in the history of humanly. He didn't invent some great technology, he didn't trip and fall on a pile of money, he wasn't born rich. He wanted something and he WILLED IT INTO EXISTANCE multiple times. That book was like my bible (lost it will have to buy another copy thinking about it).

Anyways now I'm starting to ramble, that's enough misc for me today. Best of luck brahs, mentally fake it till you make it happen, what you think of yourself internally is what you project on the world, if it's always negative, the only feedback you will ever get will also be negative.

Just typing this out has me feeling more optimistic.

Never been but I would rather go to Tijuana and smash HBB Latinas for low price. You'd be able to smash 10x more girls than Vegas.

I still think it's not helpful in the long run.

I would say try hitting up the strip club first and sit down with strippers. They would be happy to talk to you if you tip them. Pretend that they're real women and practice having a conversation with them, but always be wary.

Then you can transform that confidence into real life.

I just saw this thread, I am new to the forum and didn't expect such a positive corner on a site dedicated to bodybuilding. Good job guys

Depression can be terrible, I have been there, but no matter how deep the hole you are in is, or how full of shiyat it is, as long as you are breathing you can dig yourself out of it. To all the Bro's who are fighting the demons inside, stay strong, this chapter in your life will pass and there are moments and achievements in your future beyond your wildest dreams.

Think of this ****ty part of your life as the part in Lethal Weapon where Riggs is an alcoholic suicidal lonely man with gorgeous hair. Mertaugh is about to show up, you get a cool dog, You get a hot badass wife and you nail the bad guys. Imagine if the film ended before all that good stuff, it would be such a waste.

In summary, things will get better. Anyone feeling really low don't hesitate to PM me, there for anyone who needs some manly hugs.

Just had a breakdown and looking back at it it's pathetic, compared to most people I have so much to look forward to and have really not had that many bad things happen to me, yet here I am unable to improve and feeling sorry for myself (which makes me hate myself more for being so weak). I'm getting help, I've had problems with confidence and self esteem for a long time but I convinced myself I was fine and kind of became a robot (would fake smiles and laughs sometimes I would be happy briefly but it never lasted). I'm tired of giving myself excuses and feeling sorry for myself I know it will take a lot of time and effort but I can get better. I think the hardest thing is going to be to move on, its hard for me to shake things off that other people might just brush off easily yet here I am replaying things back in my mind over and over again. I need to change the way I percieve things and my thought process. I'm thankful for this thread and all the people that contribute to it. Time to make some progress.
