A woman I know had a guy not only ask this but also 'could you have sex with someone you're not attracted to?'
I mean just lmao - there's a place you go to have sex with women who may not be attracted to you with a room provided, it's called a brothel; go and use one you cheap-skate, chancing k*nt.

OP: it's hard to find quality partners in online dating for the same reason you don't want a DYEL partner: online profile creation is easy, so is sending a picture or whatever. The hard part is meeting in person, say for a coffee as a first encounter, and that person being able to maintain an interesting conversation with you/bond in front of other people overhearing it. You get what you put in - I'm not a fan of online dating and you shouldn't need it.
So, let's be real. What is stopping people from approaching each other? I have no clue where most of you live but, honestly, is it so insane to say - see a beautiful woman in a Costco and gently approach? "Hi, yeah this'll be a bit weird but I hate online dating. Can I take you out for a coffee sometime?" - is normally approaching someone with a bit of a flirtatious tone not what is done in the dating world any more? I mean, wtf?

She swears by paid dating sites since it shows they're invested in finding someone to date and not wasting time/fooling around. Dunno how much truth there is to that but kinda makes sense.

Could it be an age thing? If you are legit 47, finding your male counterpart (no kids and non-dyel) is like a needle in a haystack...and then those men are going to be sought out by other women.
Several options:
Go for younger men, but don't expect commitment.
Approach people at the gym or at your powerlifting meets (forget everything the misc has told you about this).
Donotunderestimate male thirst, you have the upper hand here. You got ghosted by 3 guys, imagine never getting your messages responded to ever, zero new messages apart from the occasional semi-literate unemployed landwhale with 5 kids once every 2 months (this is the reality for most normal men).

How many exactly do you know who are single, and using online dating? Come on.....whats that view from your high horse like?
-Just because you were treated badly on dating sites doesn't mean they are all bad
-Just because you know SOME people who have had bad experiences doesn't mean you should spit their vitriol
I have met/found:
-Found a 2 year relationship online
-A flat earther crazy as fook bish (made a thread about it)
-Poly girls wanting a man to satisfy their dink needs
-29 year old with 7 kids, a dead father of 5 of the kids, and ex husband who beat her father of the other 2 kids
There are some wicked people out there.....really truly wicked......but isnt that what life is about?
-Find new people for friends, weed out the bad, weed out the untrustwortly
-Find a new job, work it, see if its a good fit, if not find antoher
-Find a relationship, figure each other out, see if its a good fit
Whats so different from filling out app's online for a job than being on a dating site? You're there to see if you can find a diamond in the rough.

Always lol @ some women’s reaction when a man says no to their fleshy goodness (or advances in this case). Some women truly believe a guy can’t say no to them. Rejection happens to everyone; men and women. Deal with it.

Just approach more and be confident. I work at a bar part time and you wouldn't believe what dome deep eye contact and a simple "hi. Whats your name?" Does to woman, Makes the most beautiful and seemingly confident women puddy in your hands. Try it out

Am I the only one that thinks you can actually get something meaningful out of online dating?
I'll admit that you have to be on constant weedwhack duty to eliminate the gigantic, overgrown prickers, but there's the occasional wildflower in the rough. It just takes hard work, persistence, and an open mindset to get past those first few interviews known as the first date.
Or maybe I'm just a hopeless romantic
