The claim being made is that the hill (Gunung Padang) is associated with artificial (man-made) construction/enhancements going back some 20,000 years ago possibly due to an advanced ancient civilization. As discussed this is a pseudo-scientific claim that does not have support within the archaeological/geological communities whatsoever. The "evidence" for an ancient man-made construction regarding this hill is ridiculously suspect and is not considered good evidence. Most people associate the above claim with Danny Hilman Natawidjaya- after checking amazon, he also has a book called "Plato Never Lied: Atlantis is in Indonesia".

That's what this boils down to....the pseudo-archaeology quest for Plato's lost kingdom of Atlantis, which most rational individuals, and certainly scholars, have long ago rejected, on good grounds.

Lol there are fringe theories in every field:

-Geologists have to deal with the Young Earthers, Flat Earthers, and the Flood Geology crowd
-Archaeologists have to deal with the Lost Civilization, Ancient Alien, Ancient Technology, and Biblical Literalist crowds
-Physicists have the Perpetual Motion Machine crowd to deal with, among others
-Astronomers have the Astrologers, Moon-Landing Conspiracy, and UFOers
-Chemists have the Alchemists
-Medicine has the Homeopathy and Crystal-Healing crowds
-And (closest to my personal interests), Mathematicians have the Circle-Squarers, a group of quacks that attempt the already-known to be impossible task of squaring the circle.

All this stuff is laughable, and a good eye for skepticism is useful for weeding out the legit science from the quackery. I highly recommend a very good book dealing with this subject written by the late great Carl Sagan:"The Demon-Haunted World: Science as a Candle in the Dark".

This thread is bringing the lolz. I sometimes cant be sure if everyone is trolling or if you truly believe the absurd nonsense posted in this thread.

Guess shouldn't be surprised since other pile of garbage fairytales that make no sense at all (i.e. religion) have been so prevalent for centuries. I remember being 10 years old and loling while reading the bible because chit made no sense and was obviously a fairytale. Same with most claims in this thread. The level of absurdity makes it almost comical, but then I remember I have to live in this society with the rest of the morons who actually believe in a bearded invisible god in the sky or that ancient aliens built the pyramids. Das not it mane.

Whats crazy is we have barely touched the surface of Antarctica let alone know all the hidden civilizations hidden underneath the miles of ice...
