Mentioned my feelings perfectly. Growing up I bought quite a few albums, several times. I was even under age like 12 years old trying to buy his cd's at Kmart and they wouldn't sell them to me lol (explicit content).

MGK. ive heard his name over time, but no idea who the heck he was, never cared to learn either. I have chics on fb who are all over MGK dick right now "em sucks ass in comparison" its like serious? Em I grew up to and to me no one will touch his peak level, yeah his last few albums havnt been my thing really but overall hes the rap god. Technical though, his skill will never be matched.

Coles songs outside of his albums are usually stronger for some reason. I wholeheartedly believe he could deliver, he’s very intelligent. Has great delivery too.

Yes I think Kendrick may surpass eminem as being a better rapper when it’s all set and done. I remember him and Cole on the come up early 2010, never in a million years though Kendrick would surpass Cole.

Kendrick won’t outsell Eminem though, no one probably will (in rap)

Like many people said Eminem is still the biggest and still has hits at 45 and his skills cannot be matched.
Kendrick just won't surpass eminem.

I'll admit too i haven't listened much to MGK's stuff, I first heard of him from the cypher he did awhile back and I thought he was aight. I used to follow hip-hop religiously until just before Drake start to hit it big; he was relatively well known in the underground circuits before then.

I really couldn't name many MGK songs or his albums and what not, and nothing really memorable tbh. MGK's aight but he clearly isn't at Em's level let alone guys like Drake/Kendrick/Cole. Eminem's clout won't be matched for a very long time, even by these guys. Although out of everybody Drake is probably the most likely, but even he doesn't have the mic skills and talent that eminem has.

We'll have to wait and see. I personally believe that kendrick will surpass eminem. It's still pretty early in his career but he still hasn't put out a bad album

Na Kendrick is a racist. He was cool when he first came out but then he totally went down a racist political path and he's actually quite ignorant and insecure so even the commentary he was making wasn't really enlightened.

Someone like that can't really be considered even though he made some awesome songs back in the day. It was really more about his production than anything. Smart people in LA really mastering the ins and outs of modern digital Sound design. This made him seem more genius than he really was

Eminem has put out trash album after trash album for over a decade, let’s keep it real. Still shows the skills of a great emcee but people need to stop acting like his discography is impressive. His choppy robotic flow and the accents he did on his previous albums? He even said he cringed himself listening to it and that he took an L on his last album and he’s said his previous albums have been trash..he himself admitted this but people seem to only give him praise..

Eminem is similar to nas in the fact he has been living off one or two great albums for 20 years, despite putting out several mediocre projects after that that completely get ignored. it’s crazy

I think eminem is trying to own the technical aspect of rap, he found his craft/niche and wants to own it. He’s not very well versed in making songs but he tries to really spit.. Fair play to him though

No literally all his albums except for revival were actually brilliant upon release.

Relapse, if you know about the rap scene at the time, it was at its most creative and inventive peak in 2009 (before it ultimately died as we knew it) so even though some people didnt get it, the people that did get it loved it. Relapse was a critical success and unique masterpiece and served as a concept album and swan song to hip hop. It was also historical in the sense that enimen and hip hops original roots were in horror core and trying to be so hard that its almost like a horror movie. theres is a lot of history in that. And to more real rap fans it was a treat. It wasnt for everyone, and it might not be as good upon aging but when it dropped it was super hard. Nobody can say relapse was a misfire.

Recovery on the other spectrum was more for mainstream middle America, people who listen to Pink or (mgk) and it was also unique that it had some strong production and a pair of DJ Khalil tracks who was making the most inventive and brilliant digital soundscapes at the time. Everyone was on his nuts for those productions that were both "swagged out" and also deeply drenched in sick music theory.

MMLP2 was a surprise slam dunk after that.

Then Revival (never listened to it, still wont)

Then now Kamikaze which somehow he is still hott right now.

So no, his albums weren't weak. they all built upon his mythos all throughout and were different ways to enjoy his work in different times.

Why do people keep bringing up Eminem's past 4 albums he literally was one of the GOATS in in 2002 already. He has basically been 50/50 with the material he put out since but he still has 100+ top tier verses/songs in that time. And how can anyone say Recovery and Relapse were not solid albums? 25 to life? Talkin 2 myself? No Love? Stay Wide Awake? Beautiful? His flow on relapse is arguably his best ever srs

Choppy flow is nothing more than laziness; it's lazy rhyming in attempt to structure a song. It's typical Eminem in this fashion, sadly, and is nothing new or interesting. But of course, Eminem fans will uncritically accept everything he makes as pure gold.

Literally every eminem work is nothing more than a collection of tail rhymes with him trying to make everything fit.

Nas has had atleast 5 amazing albums but he kinda fell off after Streets Disciple. But yes I agree, lots of these older artists just need to put down the pen and move along.

MGK's diss video was a catchier song, but there's no denying Eminem packed in way more disses in the same timeframe.
