% of miscers who "are" 10% bodyfat in normal thread: 90%

% of miscers who are 10% in a thread asking for picture proof: so far, pretty fuking low %
All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.

You can see here the contrast between my upper and lower body fat distribution. Especially my torso.

My highest total bf during any of those tests was 22.5

Leo, you should watch this video where Alan Thrall, an experienced and serious power-lifter, goes through a bodyfat analysis. Especially listen to Alberto Nunez (successful bodybuilding competitor) do the run down on how much fat he has and how long it would take to get leaner. You have more fat than you think, which is likely the reason why you've never had abs.

In the end of the day, bodyfat percentage doesn't mean anything for people just wanting to look good, but it does help provide some insight for expectations and how long you may need to set aside for any particular phase of training. So don't get hung up on it, but don't delude yourself either as you may get frustrated when you lose x pounds and still aren't as lean as you expected.

It's impossible to even judge 10% by pictures due to differing levels of water retention.

Leo brah, I am going to have to agree with the rest of the pack. There's no way you are like near 19-20% in those pictures.

Yeah fine but the topic of bf % is fukin stupid in general because it’s meaningless for anything other than a dick measuring contest.

Even when you’re competing on stage, you’re measured partly by conditioning but it’s visual so who gives a sh!t what the number is if you look amazing.

Like weight, I couldn’t give a fuk what I weigh as long as I feel good and I’m strong. I check weight as I’m curious but it doesn’t change my behavior...how I feel does.

Well for me the percentage and testing is a guidance tool.

If I see more lean mass coming off than fat I know something is wrong.

In my best cut at 40 lean mass went up.and fat mass went down.

I started that with 46lbs fat and 163 lean.

I ended that cut with 32.5 fat and 164.4

That's the best I've done post 40.

I'd like to duplicate that and take it further.

Does that make sense? I use it to truly gauge my progress versus just eyes and scale.

Curious how you eat, do you track your intake? You do a good job of staying reasonably lean while training heavy. I pretty much have to eat like I'm dieting all the time to stay reasonably lean which reduces gym performance to some extent (especially lower rep work). I'm strongest (even on a lb/lb basis) when probably closer to 20% BF 200-205 range at 5' 8" but then I'm a little to "fluffy" to look good.

I do intuitive dieting so I do not measure calories, grams, etc. I know myself well enough to gauge what I think I need and go from there. I do the same with training for the most part unless I have a person I'm working with but when I have to track things it becomes a job and I already have one of those. I can do it and know how...I just don't want to. I keep carbs lower, proteins and fats high and roll the dice lol

Still helps to set goals to work toward though. That’s why I set weight goals when cutting, to have something to work toward. I think it’s easier to set weight goals than bf% goals because weight is easier to measure daily.

Then once I get there I reevaluate to see if I’m good with maintaining there or want to lose more. And I’m at my goal weight now and goal is just to maintain, but I still weigh myself daily just to make sure I stay on track.
I agree it can be a good "goal" but I think what often times happens is people become married to chasing single digits...I was when I competed and it was meaningless.

I haven't been able to get there yet (eating intuitively). If I'm not tracking I tend to go YOLO and start gaining pretty fast. I eat lower carb, higher protein and fat by preference though.

Intermittent fasting.

I go for 16/8 when I feel lean enough, if I want to cut, 23/1. I didn't track calories AT ALL during my last cut. In fact I ate like **** A LOT, but using OMAD 85% of the days, I shredded pretty well. I've tried cutting with keto, it works, but I do not recommend because of all the other chit that comes with keto

* caveat... I had so much calorie autism the first time, I pretty much can eyeball calories for ANYTHING I eat

So much this!
I tracked my bf% for my first BB contest. It drove me crazy. I always got different percentages.

Now I just use the mirror as to when I have acquired The Shredz.
It is so less stressful.
She approached with her hand extended,. I slowly stepped back. "No" she said. "I just want to shake your hand. You're amazingly gorgeous." As she walked by me she copped a biceps feel.

I still weigh everything lol. I am not very good at "eyeballing" portions. I can get close on some things, but something calorie dense like a big salmon fillet (240cals/4oz) is just too easy to end up way over cals for a meal....Typically I eat 4 meals per day. TDEE is around 2400-2500 range so I don't get to eat much to stay leaner....

I kind of do a hybrid. I'll plan out a few daily eating templates and tend to cycle through similar foods in similar slots (switch out one protein for another, similar serving of carbs for another, etc.). It has made for a nice transition into intuitive eating.

Because this is what he does. He reads a bunch of terminology and chit on the internet and tries to do it himself instead of just ****ing lifting 5x a week and watching his diet.
