High school should have a required class for all seniors. It should cover..
Budgeting
Checking account balancing- basic accounting concepts
Rule of 72
Simple interest

Freedom of speech is a principle pillar of a free government; when this support is taken away, the constitution of a free society is dissolved and tyranny is erected on its ruins.

I got a bunch of negs saying I’m an “irresponsible leftist” for having unprotected sex. Or, “a retard for going to an expensive college because everyone in your family and outside influences told you to. Have some personal responsibility by telling everyone in your life to **** off”
My child support is $130 a month. I have joint physical and legal custody and the mom isn’t garbage.
I’m also a a USMC vet.
Student loans are still $600 a month.
Some of you people are disgusting.

I don’t understand why there can’t be an incredibly simple solution to this...
Don’t make college free.
Give federal loans to would be students.
Make the first X amount of years 0% interest.
If loan isn’t paid off by X, add 2% to the remaining balance each year.

Everything depends upon execution; having just a vision is no solution.
Performance and performance alone dictates the predator in any food chain.

Didn't join military.
Took out loans. Been paying back ~$400/month for 6 years. Looking at payoff calc - I will pay double what I took out. I'm okay with it.
I went working retail/construction making $25k-35k/year to making well over 6 figs. Can afford a nice house, save, lifestyle is much better. Even tossing extra at student loans I'll still be raped due to how long it took for me to get here but I'll take my lifestyle and potential ceiling over where I was prior. It sucks but I'm not gunna bitch about it.
*Edit - however, if I didn't have a successful career I could see how I could be salty about it. It does suck - moreso what makes me mad is how the government backs all student loans regardless if students fault or not the issuers (banks, credit unions, institutions, etc.) have no risk so they can hand out loans to whoever apply for em which raises the rates and fees for them to capitalize as it's been fuked with.
I've said this in other threads - I'm down with subsidizing certain degrees/skills/knowledge in need, not just a flat out hand out to anyone who wants it. I.E. - if we are running short on doctors/engineers, etc. then let's talk about subsidizing it but there needs to be a LOT of discussion and guidelines before I am on board, same goes with skills. Electricians/plumbers/mechanics - Wyotech ain't cheap. Overall though I think it can get sticky and turn into a can of worms so I am more inclined to get the gov the fuk outta it.
