Just finished this 18" deep diver in glitter walleye pattern. Calling it "big thunder".

1/8" stainless lip, through wire fastened to the lip. Gonna need to troll it off a downrigger because damn it pulls hard and digs deep lol

The lip needs more polishing, and The line tie will be different, but its close to done anyway.

Fried up some perch



Used a 0.25:1 ratio of cornmeal to flour. Seems to give it the proper thickness for the coating

Crushed the Kokanee salmon run. Caught a bunch of nice humpbacks, pretty much every cast. (Landlocked sockeye). A lot of people don't keep them when they turn red, but they taste great as long as they are still in the lake and not way up the river in my experience. Can't beat the scenery either.

So I filmed this all on the GoPro...but then the computer my editing program is on fukked up

So, yes, this is literally a picture of my GoPro video screen lol.

48" musky two nights ago. Will have video edited and on my channel when computer is fixed.



And got this nice 38" fish last night. Was pouring rain, so pics were again awful...

Yup. The solunar tables were hot, and there was a storm coming, pressure dropping so the fish were on fire. Had a chance at three fish in about an hour, but only one stayed hooked.

The fish turn on for about 30 minutes right at dark, so I generally only fish after work.

Can fish all day and see a few non active fish, or can fish the evening and have a good chance at actually catching one.

Only ever got one fish that wasn't evening, and thatnone was mid morning.

What is your opinion on the world record muskie? I know there's a ton of controversy behind it. I think it's BS, personally, just like 90% of old timey records

Mirin' hard man. That's gotta be so sick to be able to just go.out during the week for a few hours whenever you want. That brief period just before it gets dark can absolutely be some of the best action all day for sure.

I dunno. Lots of verified huge fish, but who knows. The ontario record was caught just south of me at 58". The natural resources guys who trap netted the water in my town told me there is a potential world record fish here. The fish they recorded was 62" long... in a spot I boat by every day

Jeez. I know back in the 90s there was reports of a world record swimming in the Winnebago chain in Wisconsin, but no one ever caught it.

I can't imagine catching a 60+ lb muskie. Even a 20" northern fights super hard, I can't imagine a 60 lb muskie

The survey here was done two years ago, but about 7 years ago, 250 yards from where they caught it, I saw a monster musky in a spawning area while pike fishing in spring. Lazy follow to the boat. Biggest fish I've ever seen. Always makes me wonder if that was the one. lol.

Those monster fish, especially a top of the chain predator like musky are so elusive in part because they're capable of eating pretty big fish which means they only need to expose themselves for a very brief time. Just long enough to get themselves a decent size pike or walleye then it's back to their resting spot to digest it.

My whole reason behind making this 18" long beast of a lure! Might take me a year or two or more...but one day I am going to smoke an absolute tank on it.

My buddy always says...a 50" musky can eat a 24" walleye.

Yeah for sure. You think about how much mass a huge musky needs to move. It won't spend it's energy trying to chase down and kill something small.

For sure they can eat a big walleye. I don't tell many people about it because words can't really do it justice but I've seen things while bass fishing to where I've no doubt that there are some absolutely behemoth musky out there which nobody will EVER catch or see for this very reason.

My buddy has caught just shy of 1000 musky in the past 14 years, with a few mid 50's fish.

He said if I troll the big water deep edges in fall every year, eventually it will produce a near record fish most likely. Those fish are deep chasing whitefish and deep walleye.

Quite the commitment, but what the hell. lol

Doesnt mean we cant make fun of the leprechaun lol. He looks exactly like my boss lol.

I just recently learned how to troll a sucker. A serious big fish tactic, but you need to find suckers that are like 16" long.

It seems like you're fishing alone most of the time. Curious how you go about landing a big gnarly musky by yourself without either getting stuck with a handful of massive trebles or ending up in the lake yourself.

My buddy has a friend with a pond full of them. I am not a fan of live bait unless through the ice, but i can see it being a solid tactic.

I have actually only ever landed one musky when fishing with someone else. I basically reel till there is about ten feet of line between the tip and the fish, that way if it runs you have 18 feet (10 feet of line plus a 9 ish foot rod) of breathing room...butt of rod goes at belt line, then tip high. Grab net, and scoop. The big one three nights ago, I couldn't see much because it was dark...so netting it was a bit of a challenge lol. I also bought a big net, so that helps. I got it all on video, from hookset to release, and will do a video soon, but my fking computer motherboard decided to fuk off...

I am currently setting up my boat to become daylight at the touch of a switch. lol. I night fish for massive walleye too, and I really do need more light. A red/white light headlamp is great, but nothing beats adding a few thousand lumens. lol

Got six off road amazon LED flood lights on order.

Designing a removable light tower. Gonna look retarded, but I want one good flood light way up high. I spend too much time trapping, hunting, etc in the dark to not have it perform well.

I don't know what the English term is but you never land them with the "gill grip"?

my buddy and I never carry a net when we fish for pike since we're always moving (no boat lol) so we always land them with the "kieuwgreep" (dutch)

once you have a good grip it's like a handle basically and the mouth is automatically open which makes it easy to unhook

my personal best pike is 116 cm (around 46 inch), so that's comparable with a (small) musky lol
