Sup crew
Have a question about armor/plate carriers and LPVOs
So I got my AR500 plates finally after a 14 week wait time. The turn time on the plate carrier I wanted (Banshee Elite 2.0) kept getting delayed by another vendor and so I cancelled it.
Now I need a plate carrier and everyone's out of stock except AR500. They have the Testudo and Veritas carriers. What's everyone's thoughts on these? Are they decent or no? And if anyone knows of any better in stock carriers, please do suggest.
Second about LPVOs... Based on my research, the Vortex 1-6x is the best LPVO under $1500. Is there another option I should consider? To those who have experience with both, how does an LPVO compare to a red dot (like comp m5) + magnifier combo
Thanks,

The AR is superior to the AK is every way, especially with the availability of 300 Blackout.
I'm not dogmatic about guns, gear or even ideas. If I see that something works better, I'll switch sides on it on the spot.

I have combined cheap ammo, ergonomics and obscene decibels all in one small, 7.62x39 package. It feels like I’ve done a bad thing. But, this pistol sure does shoot!

I handled a Glock P80 today. Those are pretty neat. Otherwise they didn’t have much. They got a Daniel Defense V11 in a couple days ago. They were trying to get me to buy it but $1650 eh. Maybe if it was a V7.

maybe its just because this set up is new, but i cant get over how aesthetic it is. i really do need to upgrade the trigger though, and also try some different brands of .308 ammo.
i feel like the groups im getting are just not nearly as tight as they should be.

I think it would be most accurate to say both are very reliable designs, but they both need to be kept clean and oiled in order to guarantee 100% reliability.
but on a side note, i feel the AR15 is a better design. its lighter, more ergonomic, and magazine swaps are much faster. the stock sights are a little bit better and follow up shots are easier with 5.56 than 7.62x39

The AR is a better performing rifle all around. By a lot. The after market options in the US for the AR are incomparable to any other firearm.

Police rip Biden's repeated advice to shoot suspects 'in the leg'
https://www.foxnews.com/politics/pol...cts-in-the-leg
Law enforcement groups blasted Vice President Joe Biden for again suggesting training police to shoot suspects "in the leg" is a viable way to avoid fatalities, decrying the proposal as dangerous and ignorant.
During an ABC News town hall Thursday, Biden gave the shooting advice while talking about broader police reforms, which have been on the public conscience since the killing of George Floyd sparked nationwide racial unrest.
"There's a lot of things we've learned and it takes time, but we can do this," Biden said. "You can ban chokeholds ... you have to teach people how to de-escalate circumstances. ... Instead of anybody coming at you and the first thing you do is shoot to kill, you shoot them in the leg."
Police officers and law enforcement groups pounced on the suggestion that officers would train to shoot someone in the leg rather than "center mass," the largest part of the body that has long been the firearms training target.

It's good to have one for training but they're very much inferior.

I don’t believe current ARs are any less reliable than AKs. IIRC, there was a study done a couple of years ago that detailed that current AR rifles proved more reliable.
