People like him will bankrupt a whole segment of the population, that will increase the draw on welfare, that will drain more money from the middle class, and cause a greater loss of funds, and destroy our civilization more than it is. The cost is far greater than giving workers a raise.
People like this aren't "economical" or capitalists, they're morons.

Anyone who thinks that putting a lot of low skilled workers out of business is good for our country is a stone cold potato.
While it may be profitable for the company, we live in a country where those workers still need to be fed, sheltered, etc. If nobody will pay them for their minimal skills, what happens to them? They don't just disappear. Sure, some can be trained for greater, valuable skills, but in a country as large as ours, there will always be those who just aren't bright enough to program the robots. Since we don't just kill all the low IQ people, the taxpayers will end up using their resources.
So the rich companies get richer and the rest of us get phuked yet again.

automation can't be stopped, we'll need living wages at some point for non-uber skilled workers. I could see it doing horrible things to our psyche tho

If these people (who are working full time) don't earn enough income for food, clothing and shelter for their family it is going to seep out to other areas of life.
Fuk this profit at all costs mentality.
