No new bench vids yet but throwing this out there for fun. Got to work them shoulders if you want to make the bench gains.

As i get older I am realizing i have to get while the gettings good. I can put stats and PR's up here all day long. But, the main concepts with my workouts....
1. GO BIG OR GO HOME.
2. FORM IS EVERYTHING
3. BREATHE.

Are you sandbagging these lifts? lol Not that I mind a little sandbagging, but you have made every entry actually look easier than the one before it

These competitions always get me a little more motivated to hit a lift a little harder. Especially benchpress, since I am not a big fan of barbell bench.
You would be surprised just how much time I have to waste.

Not sandbagging, just nervous about the pause. I usually do touch and goes. sticking point for me on a fail is 2-3 inches above chest so the pause seems to just mentally rattle me. I'll try for more in a week or so. especially if a buddy happens to make the mistake of coming by and getting suckered into spotting me (like with the slingshot video)

I know those feels. Paused bench adds a whole new dimension to a lift where you are under the weight the entire time.

What a day. Big squat PR. Bench, 1st attempt with 300 was easy. 335 somehow stuck. 3rd 335, I benched it just fine but jumped the commands, so no lift, got a vid and likely good enough for this comp. Deadlift PR for 3 PR's on the day and 1,100 @176.

Vids when I recover from a 14 hour day of lifting
Don't put that on me Ricky Bobby, don't you ever put that on me.

hate to clog up the thread with non entry but here is that 415 @ 210 lift
You think that's bad? Try doing that in a meet.

I was so focused on changing my speed on the descent that I ignored the first 2 commands, embarrassing AF for a guy with 4 PL trophies in my basement. You can see the lead judge doing one of these:

Anyway, a little comic relief:

I said "I missed the command didn't i?" He said "you missed all of them" as my body was bathed in 3 red lights

Think 308.5 would be more fitting. Got back into the gym for some active recovery today, damn I'm just wrecked. Also gained 8 lbs since Friday
Don't put that on me Ricky Bobby, don't you ever put that on me.

Here's entry #1. 405 @ 286 just to get one in the books. I'm between training cycles so it's been a few months since I've been over 315. My last training cycle I hit 445. My sig numbers were like 4 years ago when I was still good at bench. Now I'm old and have kids. Enough excuses for now, I'll try to get a heavier one in, but I think my next meet will be in August so I won't be peaked in time for this.

Also, credit my lovely wife for the addition to my sheet of paper.
