And not to hate on TA, I think it's very useful, but IMO we really need to get away from people thinking TA can predict the future 100% of the time. Your average investor would get along just fine with solid FA and simply paying attention to support and resistance lines and volume. I mean just two days ago almost all TA was calling ETH a sure bull and great purchase at 11k$+ and then it tanks, just LoL. Again, I am really not chitting on TA, I get the utility, especially for day and swing traders, but for TA to be effective you have to be on it, one candle hits, one line breaks, and everything changes. Your average investor is much better off just DCAing in during dips and crashes. More people trying to time the market will miss than hit, that's just the history of all investing and probably even more true in crypto with the huge volatility.

To your point, BTC may very well not not break 10k on this test, but that doesn't mean it heads back to 7.5 for sure, and if it does break 10k everyone who just DCA'd the dip is in great shape, hell, even the more brave guys who just guessed 8k to be the bottom and went all in there are in great shape.
Well I guess we'll see, there's some whales propping this run up with buy walls and I always get super sketched out when I see that. Pushing the sheep up into the slaughter, sometimes the fomo is strong enough to carry it through though.

Damn I must have missed it. So I'm guessing you threw some coin at it? I have some fiat left and it seems silly not to atm. Was it you that also bought a geckno? Have you sold it yet? I'm hoping Etheremon catches on, and all the geckno have evolved into gecknelic and I'll have the last one that'll be worth something but tbh if I can get the ETH back that I paid for it I'll be happy lol.

All the whales and heavy hitters know about that resistance level and they'll be happy to dump the btc they picked up on the first dip and pick it back up where they got it, especially when the TA works out perfectly for one more shot of cheap btc. This all plays out pretty perfectly with futures and chinese new year as well.
I think it depends really. If, and I mean IF the hexagonal appropriation line builds a lateral resistance against the negative quartile, we may be in the clear. Then, once the angular flag formation finishes, a breakout should happen.

Having said that, it could go the other way if resistance at 9800 prevails. After applying fibonacci levels, then drawing out a gann fann combined with a pitchfork indicator meshed in with a linear regression table, then gauging the relative strength index based on how fast each section of the OHLC chart moved through the elliott wave cycles without a retracement, and the inference of projected sustainability coinciding with the state of fundamentals in the open market, we may be in for a fifth wave correction.

Has anyone done research on how Ebay dumping PayPal and moving to Ayden for payment processing points toward Ebay increasing it's possibility of implementing cryptocurrency?

I've seen talk of this possibility and now there is confirmation that Ebay is, in fact, dumping Paypal for Ayden. Ayden is an Amsterdam-based company.

interesting timeline for tether..

february; tether was audited by a Taiwanese company through february 2017. all checked out.
https://tether.to/tether-update/(at about 50m~ in tokens)

april; tether is blocked by Taiwanese banks and drops the auditing company;https://tether.to/announcement/
results in a big dip and tether has been violtile ever since --https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/tether/
no more released audits by Taiwanese company.

sept; friedman the auditor is hired and tether showed bank accounts 443m~ in usd and euros slightly above
their 442m~ tokens. Friedman admits it was not a full audit and contained "numerous caveats"
tether also says so they use private channels to transfer money to keep tether aligned with usd and that
they have 'large customers' doing this. makes sense.
https://tether.to/wp-content/uploads...7_Redacted.pdf

oct; the bull run of btc started, tether was printing to keep pace w the price of bitcoin.
look at cmc in log scale and it looks a lot clearer. also the plateaus in tether's market cap during
the earlier time period.

nov; tether is hacked and loses 31m in tether. tether calls scepticism "uninformed and baseless." bitcoin hits
one of its drops (1%) during its run.
http://www.businessinsider.com/bitco...7-11?r=UK&IR=T

dec; market is running and tether keeps printing to keep pace.

jan; market starts to fall and tether splits with friedman. tether says friedman was taking a too detailed approach.
tether has not responded to the question if they hired another auditor.
https://www.coindesk.com/tether-conf...tor-dissolved/

my guess is tether was a ponzi scheme that was propped up by involved exchanges and some banking relations. the more
volume tether had, the more they could print tether, the more they could build their stashes. they used the massive increases in
trading volume to cover their tracks and launder funds around to stack up bitcoin. by printing tether.

tether had to keep printing to keep up with their own volume because everything was pegged to the dollar, they needed to keep
pace to show their solvency. but they underestimated the bull run of dec/jan and were forced to keep the printing on pace. they needed
to keep their private channel volume inline with the public exchange volume. market falls, people retreated to tether and then wanted out. tether panicked, fired their auditor and printed billions to satisfy demand. market keeps falling, friends of tether have fat stacks of bitcoin, and theyre stuck with fat bags of tether which they are now
attempting to hide.

or tether could have 2.2b in usd sitting around. who knows, had a lot of coffee this morning.
