I wanted to get in on the investing in the stocks overall so I can build generational wealth for myself but there's a wall that's always in my way and that's the wages being paid at my part-time service job that hasn't kept up with inflation. Of course OP could do it because he gets paid 6 figures himself while I can't even hit $15k a year.
to some extent, I been at that joint for 5 years and given my past W2s, I earned a total of $55k while somehow accumulating $3k in savings and figuring out where the fuk did my money go.
Not only that but I don't have a real good idea about the economy overall and where its heading. I don't see how those dividend stocks could do well when chit goes bad and I mean really bad given income gaps and basically no ways of socioeconomic mobility (and OP is doing this in Canada, how can this work for someone in the US?). At the same time, I sure as hell don't want to work into my 40s because I don't have a college degree and these manual trades/labor jobs suck ass for obvious reasons. The passive income seems legit and I see OP's charts but what's gonna happen when chit goes bad?

Lol, now that you mentioned pensions, let's see how that plays out, if your curious, google US postal service pensions...also you have zero credentials,. Me 22 years in top 50 fortune companies as Strong financial analyst...some of your points are valid, yes in the long term , it's a good strategy..but listen young trailer owner..say we both have $100k in the market ( I have more), I fade the dip and actually short it ( as I did)..let's say market dips 20%, you now have 80k, I have 120k, then you keep plugging in..I invest not quite at bottom but close enough bc I know what I'm doing and we gain 20%, you now have$96k, ( still under your initial investment of $100k, I have $100k plus $20k inverse return ( look up Proshares SH, and 20% return on $120k is $144k, so I'm up $44k while your down$4k...that's what's happening now...the S&P has had a bull run longer than average and if you even follow anything finance related, this isn't a buying opportunity yet, it's got a ways to go...companies didn't doubke their real value in 5 years, this was easy fed policy and things that will hit the fan...end of lecture, mobile home brah
markets go up and down all the time.
“Only buy something that you’d be perfectly happy to hold if the market shut down for 10 years.”
I like to simplify investing and for me I think of my investments as more tangible than numbers on a screen, perhaps that's why i don't lose sleep at night, knowing i'm fully invested in single stocks
