Haha thanks man,
I don't lift for ego, I lift for stimulus anyways. Definitely the strongest I've been with very good execution

I think the hardest part for most people is finding that sweet spot where you are happy with your physique and strength.

Too often we switch gears and go fully in one direction and **** over the other side of lifting.

Edit: I wanna bench 365 (was damn close at 345 max and near miss 355), but I didnt want to be 260 lbs anymore

Now I'm jsut trying to be lean and get to 315 (a man can dream)

Goal 315 lb bench at 175 lbs

That's something I've never touched. I'm sure i could now, but it's been 2 years since I've had flat bench in rotation. Probably like 4 years since a 1rm Bench

Went trough the same this year. Got in the best shape of my life at 6'0 190 lbs around 10% bf but i was benching like 205x8 at the end lol, was a long ass cut.

After beach season was over, around october i started eating around 3.5-4k cals daily and with the help of creatine, i gained around 20 pounds and gained a lot of strenght, best bench was 255 x 8.

Until i saw my face in a picture and decided to cut back a few pounds again lol. Its hard to give up dem face aesthetics just for strenght reasons.

IF you are like me, my incline was always a good bit weaker than my flat bench. So 315 lbs doesnt sound out of the realm, purely based off the 225x6 incline.

And yeah, I generally tend to stay away from maxes these days.

Yeah, looking good is nice, but it can really take a toll on the old ego seeing your numbers plummit (but worth it 100%).

I lost weight for a little over a year and went from 273 lbs down to 173 lbs (currently 182ish)

Your bench (or really any upper body movement) numbers will really drop from dieting that long.

Deadlifts and pull ups are the one saving grace for strength and losing weight, I was able to get much stronger on those lifts after losing weight.

Also where I struggled to do a 8.5 minute miles at 270. I got to where I could run sub 8 minutes miles for over 8 miles total.

Health is much more important to me now than ever.

Here is the progression of what I wanted over the years:

Strength -> Physique -> Strong and Healthy (which turns out to be great for physique as well)

Lol such is the life. Past 2-3 I've bulked to like 185-190. Leaving humanity behind and pushing 200-210, I wanna get strong and bigger lol. No plans to be shredded in 2020. At 192 right now and in a pretty good place

How tall are you at 190? My biggest was 215 at 6' and I was drinking the same milk they give to beef up cattle. Think I could hit that again pretty easily if I went back to the dark side but at what cost.

Also I like most of your advice, but the same time LOL at everytime there is a "this compound lift is overrated" thread is made.

mirin brah

190 at 6' is close to DYEL status with a shirt on unless it's a smedium and then you look like a try hard. Really need to focus on my forearms and shoulders now, have a plate in on arm so any forearm dominant movement is painfull.

Not really, for someone who has been weight lifting that long at that level, he's very much in the minority for not getting on it.

Not sure if srs.

At the end of my cut i was a very lean 6'0" 185 pounder brah, and i looked pretty damn good on a large shirt. If you know what brands to wear, AKA those that are meant for athletic builds, then you dont have to wear a small or a medium lol. Havent touched those sizes since i was like 17

Yeah, I don't know about you - but I've been lifting consistently almost 16 years. Of course a part of you is going to want to take it up a notch or so when you've been at it so long. I have no aspirations of trying to big the size of an IFBB pro, or be like those idiots who don't even compete yet take all kinds of shyt, but something a little extra...

Phucking with your endocrine system though, among some other things, obviously isn't a decision to take lightly.
