Imagine the vast amounts of wealth secured by people who were already wealthy and who had the knowledge (or employed people with the knowledge) when the pandemic hit

If they capitalized on the market fear with large amounts of money, legit just imagine the gains with them being amplified by a much larger starting position. I would have put deep in the six or seven figures into my pandemic buys if I had the $$$, but alas

Don't we all.

At end of day knowledge gained during this year plus will pay off later in life. When next event comes.

Most of us here are probably early 30's and below. Time is on our side (I hope lol)

Without question gap has gone up even bigger now. Forbes billionaire list will cause lot of copium those that think rich struggled during covid.

Wealthy people don't go broke. You only hear those stories in media about athletes that came from nothing and don't know how to manage money.

All one needs to do is check how hard classic cars and exotics are selling now.

I think we’re in for another dump tomorrow morning. SPY finished overbought and tech is dumping in after hours. AMD managed to finish green but overbought also.

It looks like /wsb is trying to make RKT gamma squeeze again.

Might be worth to have alert on RKT tmmrw. Anything above $26-27 could get interesting.

RKT reports earnings after hours tomorrow so obviously careful could be sell the news event.

(implied move +/- 11 percent)

Company itself is not meme so its not like it will crash and burn just gets shorted a lot. Pinned to $21-22 range.

What do you guys think about dividend stocks? I’m thinking of just dumping a bunch of money in them and letting it ride.

Focus on dividend growth over dividend yield. Not only does growth act like a quality screen (i.e. a company consistently being able to raise it's dividends 7-10% annually, like $V or $AAPL, is doing well in operations), but the compounding from reinvesting those dividends and having those reinvested dividends fetch higher and higher additional dividends annually well result in stupid high income when you're ready to retire, even if you put in a relatively small amount now. Now, of course, this assumes that those companies will continue to both grow that quickly for 30+ years and/or will still be around (lots changes in multiple decades, obviously), but I think that's the way to go. Chasing yield may result in buying a chit tier company whose price drop will offset any dividend gains.

I should've waited longer to write my calls. But if it can close the week >$24, that will be a $30k play for me. If it doesn't, it will be $8k in premiums. Or do I go absolutely potato and roll them to some retarded price with a hella far out exp, but sell all the leaps if it moons?

Will be tracking RKT tmmrw pre market and all day have alerts ready.

I would sell leaps if RKT explodes to $40 like it did last time.

You could always get back in, with leaps again.

If last time is any indication once it goes double it will track back down to its normal range unless institutions decide to buy in and than it could be $27-30 stock for good. Remember last earnings they killed it and ceo made rounds on all networks we are giving one time dividend don't even try and short us…

When gamma squeeze is on mm has to hedge with shares…wsb who likes calls will never exercise just sell to close. than stock will go back down.

Of course there is that downside where majority of market decides to sell off for no reason and all that above fails. Will see.

I am interested in shares and short term calls if it takes off. It worked big last time.

Even though I made good profits with RKT I was stuck bag holding it for a few months till it exploded past $30 and it only felt like it was there for a day till it plunged.

Think its done that twice now? I could see another run-up again no doubt. Don't think I wanna get stuck in that chit again tho.

Edit- Just looked at my trade history and somehow I sold RKT at the top

What you have to realize is that a huge chunk of companies could and quite frankly should have gone under with the lockdowns imposed. The liquidity provided by the government was out of nowhere and never seen before. It seems everything now is too big to fail

I've been in on Meritage Homes (MTH) for a few months now and am up 20-25% on them (srs)

They build homes in Texas and Arizona and other warm states where people want to live, and they are dirt cheap for their earnings, would recommend
